If its a drone.. I mean, everyone hear knows that the correct term is UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).

You don't want to do that to a drone or a UAV.

You're right. But life is about the tough decisions.

It isn't worth getting charged with a felony and facing up to 20 years in a federal prison somewhere. Doesn't seem like that tough of a decision too me

So anything flying in the air under 400 feet is a law enforcement operation. Way to buy in.

ETA Federal Law Enforcement Operation

Doesn't matter if it is a law enforcement operation or the neighbor flying his kid's drone around. It's still a felony with up to a 20 years in jail

I want to know how they got FAA permission to fly an UAV over traffic or even if they got permission. Cause that is a big no no right now in commercial UAV work.

Not a big surprise considering how many wrecks there have been in that area lately.

Waivers? The FAA does all the time.

Speedy, I hear what you are saying. But the problem is some assholes won't use common sense when it comes to flying those things. They disregard airspace, altitudes and privacy.

Since the United States is not one big city. I can shoot a gun on my property. If a neighbor kid decides to fly a UAV over my land, its coming down. If that's a federal offense then so be it.

Just watched that video in the OP's link.

If they are flying that drone over the middle of the median, then they don't need a waiver.

Just another you to waste money on. I mean is that really needed?

You trying to say veterans shouldn't have jobs waiting for them when they get home?

Cops are mostly ex-military. Some of the military has that skill. Ex-military "Drone guy" needs a job when he gets home too.

Cool, so I too can fly a "drone" over a median without a waiver?
