There is more risk to injury of the 11 year old girl if the grown man were to grab her and try to physically restrain her.

then that makes your post to me kind of irrelevant.
I learned something new today.

Get off your fat arse and be able to stop a world class sprinting 11 year old girl
Sorry, if you are committing a crime then attempt to flee, I don't care how old you are if you get tasered. This whole "don't break the law" thing seems to be a sticking point for some people.

I don't think defaulting to having no issue outside of new details coming out is jumping to a conclusion, but I'm sure you'd like to argue that

I think we have enough details based on the police chiefs comments and reports by the police given to the media to say this was a bad encounter by the off duty cop working as a security guard
Do we have enough for a court of law at this point? No
But we have enough to safely say on here it was not the proper procedure or protocol

I don't think we do considering that 99 times out of 100 stories like these end up being justified. This one may be the exception, but the media has lost all credibility with me on these stories.
Do I think there are many situations that justify tazing an 11 year old? No. But these stories rarely turn out how they are first reported, so outside of more evidence, I'm not assuming the cop fricked up.

This usually is not how its handled from the cops when they have an ace in the hole
eta: and she was charged with theft and obstruction of justice
So we 100% know she did not have a weapon on her

Would you mind elaborating this for us? I only ask because it seems you think one of these situations happened here.

... and just a page or two ago you criticized me for jumping to conclusions with an equal amount of evidence. Hi pot, my name is kettle.

We already know 100% the girl did not have a weapon on her and she was not threatening or harming any other individual
So I want to know what else it could be that he would justify this

You idiots realize a cops job isn’t to punish people right?? It’s to detain a person with as little force as necessary so a fair trial can deliver a punishment. How you people don’t understand this blows my mind

Reading is hard huh? I don't know what happened. All I know is the story in the OP looks to be missing some key details. Again, it is not my job to discredit this story in the absence of details.
You and pride are trying to get me to commit to specific instances, and IO'm not going to d it. We all know what you're trying to do.

A crime is a crime at any age. At 11 they should know right from wrong when it comes to stealing. I am not saying the using a taser is the best way to detain the criminal but I am not upset by the fact the officer prevented the criminal escaping.
