only a leftist could think "ya know, running away from cops and resisting arrest is perfectly normal behavior".
I don't know about all leftists but I do know that many blacks think that by how often it happens.

2 lives now ruined.
That cop should of got up off of him then drew his weapon. If the guy continues to fight then shoot him. If not, let him flee. Not worth it for a traffic stop.
Adrenaline and fear makes people do stupid shite. This goes for both the cop and suspect.
Basically if I’m a cop nowadays and a black person is fighting me to get away I’m letting them go. I’m not ruining my life killing them. They’re just gonna flee and kill their own anyways.

People should look at officers killed every year. It far outweighs incidents like this

So when BLM is activated hard and heavy on this who's next to take millions of donations from the organization then buy another mansion? Then try to turn around and say it's racist for pointing out how corrupt BLM is?

Local news at 10 that's about it.

What is the likely outcome for the police officer in this matter?
Any opinions?

Very well stated and one of the smartest statements I have read in quite some time on this board.

This is just my opinion, but if I know someone has a gun on them or any other type of devices they could use to bring me down, I am not trying to run away and then fight with them.
In the heat of the moment people's judgement isn't what it is in normal situations, but when I saw the video my first thought was "its April, midterm elections are this year... Right on track".
And people fall for it.
The following are numbers from 2021. The number of people by race killed by cops.
White: 234
Black: 139
Hispanic: 66
Unknown: 608
TOTAL: 1047 And I don't recall seeing a single one of these making its rounds around social media (not that it didn't happen, I just don't remember any being a big deal).
statista
As you can see, each race had a lot more people killed in years before 2021, but what is different in 2021 is the amount of unknowns killed.

Why do some people act like they are from another planet when they have to deal with police?

My point is that we ALL should be outraged when the state kills citizens without due process, and when there's no immediate threat to life.
What about when there is an immediate threat to life?
And where is the bar to determine what constitutes an immediate threat to life? Surely you would agree that there are some circumstances where the immediate safety of the officers and bystanders take precedence over due process. So where’s the line?
A deadly weapon pointed directly at an officer or others? A suspect reaching for a deadly weapon? A suspect trying to take a weapon from a police officer?
Here’s the thing - if someone is willing to fight a cop knowing that it could lead to their death, there’s good reason for the cop to assume that their life is in danger as well. In that scenario, an incapacitated cop could easily be a dead cop. The officer has to make a split second judgement call.
Are there cases where cops go overboard? Sure. And when that happens, the officer should fry for it. They should be held accountable for their actions. The problem is that those aren’t the cases the BLM movement wants to focus on. Instead, they focus on cases where a suspect is violently resisting arrest - in many cases, while armed.

He tried to flee first. Only after the cop chased him, tackled him and tried to tase him did he become "violent" in trying to defend himself from the cop's initiation of violence. Simply fleeing is not an act of violence, although it does raise the suspicion of guilt a notch or two, but not to the level of guilt.
The thing is, the flight itself is a crime. Maybe not a violent crime, but a crime nonetheless.
I will never understand this whole “just let them run” line of thought. Let’s assume for a moment that the police do have accurate registration data on the vehicle (meaning not stolen plates). Let’s go even further and assume the fleeing suspect does indeed live at the registration address.
Then what? Should the cops stake out their house to collect evidence? How many man-hours should they spend doing so? Should they send a SWAT team in to make an arrest at home on charges of fleeing a traffic stop?
That’s asinine. It would require an extraordinary amount of resources, and an arrest at home is far more likely to result in casualties (both among the police, suspects, and innocent bystanders) than arrest at a traffic stop. Not only is it more dangerous, it also gives the criminal (who has already become a criminal, regardless of initial suspicion, by fleeing) a much better chance to evade arrest and/or destroy any evidence that would have been found initially.
So if you aren’t going to set up a raid to arrest them, what’s the alternative? Just let them go and hope they don’t run next time they get pulled over? At that point why have a police force at all?
The entire idea that cops should just let them run is ridiculous. You have a constitutional right to due process, but you don’t have a constitutional right to avoid due process by running away. There can be no due process in that scenario.

Awesome how the video shows nothing that leads up to why the cop had to be in a struggle on a routine traffic stop.
There was a lot more of this video played, months ago, when this originally happened. They are not showing the cop asking him to comply 350 times before Congo man took off running.
Showing the whole video does not promote the agenda.
