I know for a fact that the a/c doesn't work, but I didn't see any leakage marks in the ceiling. Doesn't mean that it's livable though.

Seems to me that the entire loan budget would be busted once we get done with roof, a/c, and floors/countertops. Then we'd be paying out of pocket

Dont do it. What you are saying reeks of hidden electrical issues.

Tell your old man if he thinks it's such a steal to pony up the cash while yall stay there, save money, and help him flip it.

Pass.

You need to have a home to live in for yourself before you start flipping em.

That’s enough information for me to basically suggest what others are saying.

Get married.

Save cash.

Congrats on the secks.

frick that. I’m in the market right now. I feel like I die a little inside every time I write a rent check. There’s no return on investment. It’s just money gone.

Renting has its place but once you are fairly stable with a family it seems like a waste of money. Real estate is generally a pretty good investment too.

How many gay dudes we have on the OT?

You see, a fiance is not someone that has a vagina. A fiancee does, however.

We bought a late 70s ranch style house about 5 years ago. It was probably about 75% remodeled when the guy's wife died and he downsized. I'll take this over a new cookie cutter with the garage door in the front all day. That's what we previously lived in.

I'd rather pay rent than financially reach for a house you can't really afford and can't even live in until significant work is doen

Good luck paying rent when you are retired. A 2 BR apartment will probably be 3k by then and you'll be on a fixed income
