They'll just build a detention pond somewhere in the 270 acres and say everything will be alright.

That’s Jones Creek running through the middle of the picture. Those houses on the creek throughout the entire picture flooded in 2016 so that land clearly flooded.

A brand new pumping station was also built on Sherwood Forest Blvd. where it crosses over Jones Creek.

Retention Ponds are the biggest scam going on in GBR development.

I will say that if done right it can be good. Shadows at White Oak seems like a decent neighborhood and they have tiny lots. They are a gated community though.

My parents just moved out of a house backing up to that course. They’ve been trying to sell it for a few months now. This is going to frick them. It’s a really nice house too.

i guess it'll give all the homeowners around the area couple years to move before the first house is ready to sell

I am not sure exactly. They are all very small lots though.
To be fair, not all of the 270 lots in the Legacy proposal will be garden either.

Wait, shadows at White Oak. Is this the neighborhood down Harrels Ferry across from the fire station?

When I was living as a young lad in Sherwood Forest it was considered rural and the country

I am referring to the one that Jones Creek runs into on S Harrels Ferry. Did I mess that name up?

ETA: I looked and it is called Shadowbrook, I think. Sorry about that. I am referring to Shadowbrook.

while i don't mind development...

quote:

MR Engineering and Surveying has filed an application with the Planning Commission to rezone the property from single-family residential to rural—which would allow for smaller lot sizes—and to allow the development of a subdivision called the Lakes at Legacy on the site.

dumb. if the area is zoned residential, then that is what it needs to be

Jones Creek ran behind our yard and we didn't flood. It was really a factor of elevation.
