Sorry but what do the numbers on the right indicate ? Percentage of cars requiring repair ?
That is a simple overall reliability grade from 1-100. Very reliable cars are in the 80s and 90s.

What do y’all think of Subaru reliability? Was thinking about trading in my truck for a Subaru Outback XT. I believe the XT stands for Xtra Towing with a womping 3,500 pounds. Good enough for me.

Had a 1994 Chevy with 4.3 vortex engine best truck I ever had sold it with 260k on it only had to change ignition switch. Then had a 2006 Chevy and had transmission issues at 70k and seems like check engine lights every 2-3 months. I also had to change out every single light on the truck and in the truck at least 3 times . Now have a 2016 Tundra with 290k I’ve only changed tires I’ll keep this one till the tires fall off then I’ll have it fixed because all the new trucks are crap . Crazy that we allow the government to dictate shite they know nothing about and cause us money

How does ford get away with still offering the 5.0? Imagine if Toyota could/would still offer their V8....
I wondered the same thing. I don’t think Ford makes you have AFM in the 5.0.
People would buy the old iforce 5.7 if still offered, now that reliable engines are so hard to find. I know sales were flat which is why Toyota finally retired the old body style and 5.7 but I think a lot of people would welcome it back.

Any engine from any company with any kind of variable timing bullshite will have problems and die before they should.

Nobody likes CR if they talk bad about Toyota, or God forbid, Tesla.

calling them paid shills
Fyi, I didn't make the claim of paid but I sure wouldn't surprise me. If you're past 30 and haven't figured out following the money then you've been under a rock. Being "non-profit" doesn't mean much to me. American Heart Association is non-profit and look at what sacks of shite they are.
My issue mostly is they hire unqualified journalists to rate things in fields where they aren't experts...just checking off boxes on a boilerplate chart. I haven't given a shite about CR in over a decade.
Oh, then there's this gem:

Philip David Radford (born January 2, 1976) is an American consumer and environmental leader who is currently the President and CEO of Consumer Reports.[3] He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer of the Sierra Club,[4][5] and as the executive director of Greenpeace USA.[6] Radford started his career working for the nonpartisan organizations Public Interest Research Group and Public Citizen, working for consumer protection, fair trade, and public health.[7] He was the founder and President of Progressive Power Lab,[8] an organization that incubates companies and non-profits that build capacity for progressive organizations,[9] including a donor advisory organization[10] Champion.us,[11] the Progressive Multiplier Fund[12] and Membership Drive.[13] Radford is a co-founder of the Democracy Initiative. He has a background in grassroots organizing, corporate social responsibility,[14] and clean energy.[15]
Forgive me if I'll continue to consider CR worth about a bucket of warm spit.

Yeah they are failing left and right. They just haven’t been part of the safety recall like the non-hybrids because the electric motor can at least get the truck a few feet off the highway when the turbo V6 seizes.
lol…ok, now I know your full of shite.

Don’t know anything about performance, but saw the new Tacoma and 4Runners today and they are fine looking rides.

have a Tundra with 250k miles. Never done anything but an oil change.
Never replaced brake pads/rotors? Still on original spark plugs and air filter? Dang.

You can wipe your arse with all these “reliability ratings” from companies. They are all paid and bought by the companies themselves and used as click bait to sell their autos.
These “auto ratings” sites were probably the first of its kind that came out after the internet became mainstream.

Coworker’s Tundra engine just blew little over a year in. Embarrassed for the japs.

My buddy jokes that everything but the engine has broken at some point on his 2023 Tundra. And the engine was just recalled. It’s an SR5 with the TRD package.

Very good but the horizontally opposed engines burn a lot of oil especially if you push them hard.
