Maybe you just need to drink more water.

I concur. The only true diagnosis on the OT.

I know some people who do this every 3-4 seconds when they are speaking. ALL THE TIME.

I want to punch them in the face.

please don't turn yourself over to be a guinea pig for a quack...

grab a regular sized bottle of saline solution, then ad a packet of bufferred saline powder from walgreens

the buffering will take the sting out of it, and the extra salt will assist in drying out the mucous membranes and slowing down the issue, maybe even stop it.

are you a dairy drinker? quit
it is one of the most guilty culprits in producing excess mucous

unprocessed dairy is fine, it's the pasteurized stuff that get's turned into garbage with the pasteurization process that kill enzymes that are needed by the body

good luck

Get off of dairy products. You're having an allergic reaction to dairy.

I had the same issue and removing dairy from my diet did the trick.

Can't believe no one has said this. Look up 'Tonsil Stones'. Often lead to a person clearing their throat due to the feeling of debris or aggravation in the back of throat.

Very common and very gross. I suspect you have some of this going on if you have excess mucus production. Go buy a syringe and spray some water to clear out your tonsil crypts. It'll help a lot!

'Tonsil Stones'.

Just mash them out with your finger and put them in your nose.

There are many more common symptoms of hypothyroidism than needing to clear your throat. It's actually relatively uncommon for that specific diagnosis. More commonly would be weight gain, cold insensitivity, brittle hair/skin, and most importantly fatigue.

Plus, ACEI use, GERD, allergies are wayyy more likely than hypothyroidism.

I was coming in to say this. It wouldn't hurt to head to a doctor, but if your issue is seasonal it's probably allergies.

I have the exact problem. Doc said I have acid reflux and told me to take Omeprazole (Prilosec) for 6 weeks and that I should try to sleep with my head lifted a bit. I recently got an adjustable base and raise the head and feet. But all in all I still get it as I'm not constantly taking Prilosec and I love to eat foods that cause it. I'm sure if I quit dairy, chocolate, tomatoes, citrus, etc etc I wouldn't have it nor would I enjoy life

besides quitting dairy

one should read up and get understanding

not milk dot com

quotes from buried stories in JAMA that everyone should know

LINK

I went 33yrs with no allergies whatsoever, then one day BAM...got all the symptoms at one time...I was in misery to say the least...took many more years and an article on milk and puberty to get me to take another look at dairy

nobody wants to believe their fav food is the culprit...say it ain't so daddio

this is correct dx .
LPR until proven otherwise. still could warrant a flexible fiberoptic laryngoscope exam to birds eye for suspicious lesions which may need bx.

I just looked at the bottle and it's only 10mg. I took the Prilosec a year ago or so that I bought OTC. This new script I just got from the doc and he prescribed it, so not sure why it's only 10m. Is 20mg the usual prescribed? But it's 30 capsules and he said take 1 a day for 30 days.

I'll look into Zantac, should I just get OTC?
