I am on the undecided. Man has not gone beyond the moon since. I find that very odd that we havent even attempted another moon landing or even a man on Mars. Our technology is infinitely better than in 1969. It wouldnt surprise if the whole thing was BS.

Amazing how that video was published AFTER people started questioning the moon landing.
Why wasn't it around before then?
It was released immediately after the mission concluded. WTF is wrong with you?

These are just some general points about stupid stuff I've read in this thread.
On the inability to put someone on Mars. A flight to Mars is exponentially more complex than a flight to the Moon. The Moon travels around the Earth and you have numerous launch Windows to get your capsule there. Simply controlling for Mars' long at it around the sun (which is not geosynchronous with Earth) is a huge stumbling block. Additionally we are only now studying the effect of prolonged zero G exposure on humans. The moon flight was actually a very short mission compared to a modern on the ISS. A trip to Mars and back is an even further leap in human endurance. All of that is on top of the need for increased radiation shields, more precise guidance systems (NASA literally hand checked the calculations to the moon, imagine how hard it would be to do the calc on a flight to Mars), more supplies, more psychological support, more redundancies in case something breaks (3D printers are huge on this front).
Even in spite of all of those obstacles NASA's Orion program has a target of 2035. To put that in perspective the moon is 238,900 miles away from earth. Mars on its closest approach to Earth in sixty thousand years years was 34,647,420 miles away. We will increase our exploration range of the universe by >100x in just ~65 years if Orion is successful.
The idea it would be a simple step to go from Earth to the Moon to Earth to Mars is ridiculous.
Yes it would likely have been easier to fly to the moon 1969 than to fake the landing. Rocketry had been a focus of government and military spending since WWII. There is no reason that a branch of technology considered critically important for military defense and for national pride could not advance significantly faster than the film industry. Look at the special effects of 1970's and 1980's movies, what about those movies convinces you that Hollywood (or some cabal thereof) was able to recreate a moon shot that good in 1969? Even today with all we know graphic effects, filmmaking, and cgi we can easily discern truth in filmmaking.
There is an incredibly amount of collateral evidence that the moon landing was real. The idea that all of this was made up and hasn't been exposed (when the U.S. Government couldn't even plant some WMDs in Iraq is insane).
Long story short. The conspiracy theories are ridiculous. We went to the moon and we will go to Mars, deal with it.

Are dinosaurs real?
I think we did land on the moon. Maybe they put a fan to keep the flag blowing for that picture.

My conspiracy theories don't involve those.
They typically focus around U.S. forces guarding poppy fields in Afghanistan. But I won't open that can of worms either.
Drugs and gambling. That's where the real conspiracies are.

I touched a moon rock at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago the other day....it gav me chills knowing it came from literally another world!! Proof postive.

We did go to the moon. Some of the video was damaged on the return trip and they reshot some of the video after they were back. You can find images of the set used if you google.
It is a situation, once again, where both sides were right.

Still missing the point.
I don't think I am. Thousands would have to be involved in it. The astronauts put reflectors on the surface that could immediately be tested as soon as they planted them. They got moon rocks that are hundreds of millions of years older than the ones we have on Earth.
Sure, they could have gotten Kubrick to film the scenes for audiences to be floored, but one slight frick-up, and all for shite. There might be just one minor frick up that one scientist will notice that no one else will, and it's all for shite. So yes, it's much much more difficult to fake the moon landing than to go the moon itself. Going to the Moon is really just making sure the math is right, while faking it is putting it in independent humans' hands who all have unique motives.

Hell I believe the NFL and NBA are rigged.
They are. I have seen enough that there is nothing that can convince me otherwise. I dont stop at just those 2 leagues though. I think the majority of sports are heavily influenced by money.

I'm not talking about the cover-up. I'm just talking about which would have been easier because the poster said we went to the moon because we had that technology but not the technology to fake the footage.
Just talking about that. Not trying to keep it a secret or any of that.
Never mind. Not that important.

Exactly. One whistleblower and the whole thing up in smoke and the U.S. is a laughing stock.
The technology to get to the moon is not actually that complex. As I said they were able to check the calculations by hand. This wasn't some crazy high tech operation.
