No. This isn't another SUBR thread nor a joke.

I've been giving the idea some serious thought. I love my current job, but I want some extra assurance to make myself more marketable should I decide to move.

I'm considering the following careers: Accounting
Process Technology
Construction Management

Those are what I find interesting. However I am curious as to what professionals are needed in LA and TX (other than nurses).

This doesn't surprise me. You strike me as a career student.

The only thing you'd be assuring is your lifetime debt.

We will always need to build things. My dad made a good living with this degree. He retired at 57 and has made a lot consulting when he wants to work.

You should never have a problem getting a job in Huntsville with a physics degree.

If you don't know shite you could. Physics majors are either really smart, really dumb, or high school teachers.

If you haven't worked in construction while studying, your wasting your time. We have CM degree kids stacked up as helpers.

I did. But he asked for my undergraduate.

Whichever field I go into next, I'll have to essentially start over. Which is okay.

Honestly when I first studied Physics, i thought it was a good idea. Then I realized that the field really wasn't for me by my senior year. I knew I would not be happy going for PhD. And I never really liked the teaching profession.

So I decided to finish the degree but look into going back into school. As veterans in here know, I obtained my EE masters from SUBR.

In hindsight I knew it would be more difficult to find work versus taking the traditional engineering route.

But I made it work in the end. However, there is a certain level of job security that you get with full certification (nurses, plant operators, PE engineers, doctors, etc.)

So I can either go back a fulfill the requirements for a BS in EE. Which is a years worth of classes. Or I could go into a new profession and get a new lease on life.

If you aren’t happy it doesn’t matter what anyone says. You have to make the decision that’s best for you. You seem to be seeking justification to go back to school, I would do it if I were you.
