I can always work remotely but what's the IT job market like in that area?
Well there’s a small company in Bentonville you might have heard of. They employ a few IT people.

I lived there for 2-1/2 years on a work assignment it’s very nice for a small town. If you like small cozy towns with decent amenities it’s a good place. Ate up with Clemson fans though.

NWA is growing at a rapid pace.
In regards to the weather. The last few years we haven't had much snow compared to years past, but we've always had either snow, sleet, freezing rain mix. Temperatures that time of year average low 50's upper 40's with an occasional arctic blast that drops our highs into 30's/upper 20's. Those don't last more than a week typically.
Spring and fall are awesome. The spring we always get severe weather. Haven't had too many damaging tornadoes over the years, mostly QLCS spin up tors. But we live 50 minutes south of Joplin and we all know what happened there.
Summer's of late haven't been too miserable. Upper 80's lower 90's with an occasional week to 2 week high pressure heat wave with high dew points. Upper 90's in NWA with the River Valley surpassing 100.
Plenty of terrain to choose from. Beaver Lake is a gorgeous clear lake in Rogers. Although with the population boom, summertime boating is getting crowded. We also have many nearby rivers and streams to float or hike around. Devils Den is a popular local hiking spot. Fishing and golfing locations are plentiful.
Crime has always been low up here. With that said with population growth comes more crime, but I have never felt threatened. NWA is more of a working/college/retirement area.
Our infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully our 6 lane interstate system from Rogers to Fayetteville will be done in a month or so. It has helped longer commuting people, but eventually it will be not enough. City infrastructure is the worst. Everything comes to a halt with the amount of stoplights we have. Thankfully Rogers is starting to build more roundabouts and adding lanes on main travel roads in town.
Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, NWA is shockingly remote. It’s not close to literally, anything worthwhile for 6 hours. Keep that in consideration.
Hey! We have a regional airport dammit!

Is Chattanooga legit now? Went once in 2007 and it was like a shittier BR

I lived in Greenville briefly:
Pro: close to the mountains, charming downtown, good eats and a breweries, Asheville an hour away, extremely affordable
Cons: Airport sucks, still a lot of rednecks, bob jones U weirdos
Greenville is still 100 times better than BR though.

Uhhh don't know if serious
Greenville is the largest city in the Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The MSA had a population of 920,477 in 2019,[9] making it the largest in South Carolina and the third largest in the Carolinas.

I've been in the past 3-4 years. It's developed a lot but we'd still be paying for private school in the city limits. It has some crime issues as well.

Have you considered moving back to God’s Country aka Central?

You’ll be fine and they’re not that bad. Greenville rednecks are a whole lot better than say Livingston Parish rednecks

If you are into the music scene we have the Walmart Amp, which has recently expanded capacity and has brought in some big names.
Located directly behind the amp is the recently opened Top Golf.
It's truly amazing how much my hometown has grown since I was a younger fella. No signs of stopping any time soon.

We almost built a house in Village Lakes 6-7 years ago. We owned a lot in that subdivision.

I'd like it but I've resigned myself to the fact that unless I get a divorce I'm living in the South and a days drive from LA and AL.
