Consider the Bathroom Fan

It doesn't actually blow air (that one can feel), remove any smells, or do anything useful besides provide noise for people who don't want others to hear them go to the bathroom yet it is considered an integral, yes, fundamental part of every bathroom constructed.

You might want to see if yours is installed properly.

It will not cover noises inside the bathroom. Buy a quiet one not a loud one.

You must not remember going to the bathroom after your dad went as a child, the fan is a crucial thing

If installed properly, it vents air from the bathroom to the outside.

I think ;bathroom fans are actually required by the code...one of the things builders of spec homes cut costs on...

Fan doesn’t help much when you shite all over the toilet seat

Public bathrooms should be mandated to either have fans making noise or be playing music at all times

Fans over baker racks required by code?

I thought this would be about an actual fan in the bathroom, not an exhaust fan.
Summer in Texas is hot and humid. I installed a ceiling fan in the sink area of our master bath. Best idea ever.

Don't they help remove humid, moist air to help prevent mold/mildew?

The most important function to me is blocking outside noise. Nothing more awkward than hearing a conversation whilst pinching a loaf. Also, when the kid comes a knocking I can pretend not to hear them and finish my appointment.

They do. Mold will form at the top of the wall/ right next to the ceiling and also the ceiling above the shower. Because the moisture created from taking showers will get on the ceiling/wall and create mold.
I’ve been in numerous bathrooms and seen this first hand.

It removes moisture out the room to outside and the right cfm WILL remove smells.

Subtle indoor plumbing brag.

Remove the shitty (pun) builder grade fans and get some CFM’s and you’ll change your tune.

I hope you're a woman. If you can't understand the basic function of the bathroom fan.
