Another option

Unfollow (click on contact and select unfollow) everyone except immediate family/contacts. At that point you have a 1 way line of communication (remain friends, but do not have their posts show up in your feed)

Follow cool feeds regarding topics you are interested in (you are more likely to see updates as your feed will not be overwhelmed with everyone's drama)

Some of my friends post some pretty funny stuff but sometimes I don't think to log on for a few days and I find myself at great peace.

I was wondering if I was the only one told that growing up. I can still see pretty good. Do not have much hair in the palm of my hand.

Shut mine down two months ago. This chick from Texas ask for w friend request. Yo felt something wasntcright with her. She was coming on too strongbox for me not knowing her very well. Got offended as hell when I blocked her. I would send a picture but she got so offended she blocked me. Really, I finally realized your whole life is out there on those pages. What sucks is when you shut it down it comes back up if you login to look around. I went to another site called seen.life. interesting.

I just tried to push a bullet through my head after trying to make sense of this

You can actually delete your account, instead of deactivation.

Deleted mine 4 years ago after the Super Bowl. I couldn't take the level of stupidity. Also became aggravated of having to go through to delete or turn off contacts that I had from the early days that would spam the timeline. Twitter for news and Instagram for learning stuff and family/closest friends.

Meh, it's just like any other outlet. I check it every couple of days to see what's going on.

I moved a lot as a kid and FB was a way to get back in touch with all the army kids who moved around the world. FB is great for that.

I guess if you're from the same town watching the same meth heads from HS post their trashy thoughts, it could get old.

I haven't been on Facebook since 2011, but I don't understand when people close Facebook and say things like "my life is so much better," "I'm enjoying it.
Like how the frick was Facebook negatively impacting your life without you wanting it to? If it was the notifications, couldn't you just turn them off?

People get addicted to it to the point they don't even realize they're on Facebook.

Wake up - check Facebook
Redlight - check Facebook
On hold with a customer - check Facebook
Sitting down at lunch - check Facebook
Taking a shite - check Facebook (this one in ok with)
Works slow - check Facebook
Come home from work - sit down and scroll through Facebook for hours
Dinner - Facebook
Bedtime- lemme see if anything changed on Facebook

So when someone says they enjoy life without Facebook, this is why. For some people they have an extra five hours per day now to get other things accomplished.
