Ryanair announced an order for an additional 75 Boeing 737 Max 8 planes. This brings their total order to 210 Max planes. Hopefully this will open the door for many other airlines to order as well. There are deals to be made so hopefully the orders will continue.

Boeing News Release.

Sweet livery as well.

I'm not sure which would be more nerve wracking-- being in a 737 Max 8, or being on Ryanair.

I’d be nervous getting on any Ryanair plane.

Ryanair Launched in 1984 and has never had a fatality. They fly only Boeing 737 aircraft. Their fleet is comprised of 470 Boeing 737-800 aircraft with over 200 more on order. Your comment is silly

I have a feeling that the 737 max is going to be one of the safest planes in the world.

Boeing has billions riding on the MAX and the scrutiny from the public, the media and regulators worldwide is way too intense and white hot for Boeing to risk another screw up that would permanently scrap the MAX.

The last 20 months was a downright nasty enema for Boeing for engineering and management, and one for the FAA as well considering they got too close and outsourced certification to Boeing employees.

I wonder what kind of deal Ryanair got for those planes. 50% off?

Isn’t that airline much crappier than Spirit?

I wonder if Boeing is going to continue concentrating on hiring engineers of color or the most qualified?

Did they choose the option to install the coin slot on the bathroom door this time around?

I feel very good about the A220 and A321XLR the next few years. Airline market will become primarily long and thin routes in a post-Covid world. These smaller jets will now have the range and CASM is plummeting. Of course the Dreamliners and A330NEO’s have their place for long haul but the future is in the highly efficient smaller airframes.

For having such a screw up they probably couldn't have timed it better. I'm sure with COVID a lot of orders would have been canceled anyways.

A little secret about Spirit - purchasing the "big front seat" is one of the best deals in the airline industry.
