I hate to see anybody get in trouble over cannabis. Total bullshite. But I’m sorry, you have got to be a complete dumb arse to try and smuggle stuff like that in other countries.
Granted, we’re pissed at Russia at the moment but she caused this. Us screaming for her release is a moot point. She broke their law. Unless she was framed or setup I don’t have much sympathy for her.
Quit acting like those mean Russians are just grabbing Americans and throwing them in jail. SHE….frickED….UP. Get over it.

The comical part is her "wife" can't even talk to her because our embassy representatives are incompetent and don't understand the time difference between Russia and USA.

In our country she would be presumed innocent until proven guilty. A charge is not proof of guilt.
We know that Russia, a pariah nation, selectively enforces their laws to the convenience of their dictator.
We know that Russia’s dictatorship is homophobic and that Griner is a lesbian. Can we ever know whether or not the charge is because of a violation of Russian law or a political move?

Is this typical of how their court system would treat someone caught in possession of a vaporizer pen, be that a citizen of Russia or a typical tourist? If it is, then so be it. I don't believe that it is. And, if it's not, our State Department and government has a duty to look into why she isn't being released or getting a fair trial.
You guys can just admit you don't like her, but she's a US citizen, regardless of what she's said in the past about personal politics.
