Ok. Prove your point. Post the one that said they hated her because she’s a black lesbian….

Concerning Brittney Griner
I do not.

I remember when that happened. It was not even a surprise. Monkeys are in charge, with monkey goals, and an elementary understanding of how things work.

According to wikipedia.
She was supposedly carrying a vaporizer cartridge containing hashish oil and arrested on February 17th of this year. Russia doesn't announce it until March 5th.
Anything beyond the penalty for her crime is Russia using an American as bargaining chips.

Cannabis in Russia is illegal. Possession of up to 6 grams (or two grams of hashish) is an administrative offense, punishable by a fine or detention of 15 days. Possession of larger amounts is a criminal offense

also these things tend to happen when you have a lame duck in the white house and incredible weak foreign policy.
Posted on 7/1/22 at 9:46 am to OweO
Probably true, but if you avail yourself of a foreign country in tension with your country and you flirt with criminal conduct, well, the outcome is predictable.
Frankly people would be much more sympathetic to her cause if ESPN wasn't beating us over the head with it insisting we care. Inherent in the messaging is the idea that we all should treat obscure players in obscure, unwatched leagues like genuine celebrities, and that her detention is somehow more egregious because she's black, a lesbian, etc.

It’s not complicated. Just follow the context clues.
Now stop deflecting and answer the other two questions unless you want to admit you were just spouting typical bullshite.

I’m guessing she’s been doing this for years and whichever oligarch she’s serving had a deal in place for his friends to get waved through security

Didn't the UCLA kids steal expensive, designer, sunglasses? I am a huge fan of just handing out whatever punishment the law says criminals get.
Our country could also benefit from returning to that. There are countries that would put her to death for doing what she did. I know that they stamp in your passport, in red ink, "Be forewarned. Bringing illegal drugs into our country carries the death penalty."
Her privilege blinded her to her stupidity. And the same with the UCLA boys.

Bingo. they reported early on that her and her team owner had become friends, and she would hang at his home a lot. They also said that he fell out of favor with Putin when he could not provide as much money as Putin requested. then, she came bee-bopping in with a pocket full of hash oil.
This part of the story disappeared like a fart in a hurricane.

I use to put the TV on ESPN when I am home during the day and just listen to it while doing other things, but I can't anymore.
Its like they have one or two headlines or stories they decide should be headlines, they focus on those and then everything else is a 30 second story.
While I know a lot of people probably don't like him, I do like Stephen A, but I don't even know what stories ESPN is pushing.
Paul Pierce said something a few years ago that stuck with me. He said "ESPN wants you to talk a lot about Lebron James and say things you might not agree with". Im paraphrasing, but other than a few personalities its like everyone is are robots who are programmed to stick to the script.
They don't do much reporting. They just let other outlets find the stories and then they decide what to talk about.
If the do break news its always "sources say.." and it might be true.
But I can see how they would take this story and run it in the ground..

I respect your opinion. I’m sure Griner now has a different view of the US. If she doesn’t then she’s a fool.
We promote dissent and free speech. It’s absolute freedom when we can put a “frick Joe Biden” flag on our house and not expect a visit from the authorities. I doubt that there are any “frick V. V. Putin” flags flying in Russia.

If Trump was in they would have turned her dumb arse over to us. She could have come home and called us all pieces of shite but none the less if Don said " turn that ho loose " she would have been on the first plane home.
