You have me confused with someone else. I never once mentioned race.

It’s a little uncomfortable how fixated you are on race. Did some Indian child dare have a higher gpa than your white princess?
were you drinking last night? lol

Go into bioengineering or chemical engineering if you want med school. You get all the sciences and the maths and engineering courses as well. If medicine doesn't work out, you have lots of other options that don't suck.
I see your point (and it is a valid one). The counter argument is that if you are someone who doesn't enjoy math (like myself), then those additional hard classes could bring down your GPA and hurt your chances of getting into med school. I went biology and have no regrets (granted it all worked out and if it hadn't then one of those degrees would have helped). Majoring in engineering would have added a lot of unnecessary hard classes.

holy crap I definitely forgot I said that.
And to answer your question, I sure was.

majoring in biology is a rookie mistake
TAMU has a BA in Biology that feeds the PA/Med School
She didnt really want to go to TAMU, that was just making the most out of it if TAMU was the best school she got in to
She would major in Biology if she went to LSU. I like the idea of majoring in Biology, I already do a lot of stuff with Micro Biology in O&G right now and it is a huge career opportunity if she doesnt get into PA/Med school or has a change of heart.
BTW you need to join me and The Egg for lunch, we are doing his favorite spots in Bellaire about every 6 weeks or so. Will let you know for the next one

not to mention the College of Engineering at Texas is SUPER competitive, by far the toughest to get in to.
TAMU is a little easier to get in to Engineering but they are deadset on turning their engineering school into a massive diploma mill. TAMU has a 10 year plan of having 25,000 engineering students oncampus by 2025

I don't ever remember ap classes when I went to high school
Have them apply to West Point or Annapolis

I hear your frustration, sup.
Imagine how pissed you'd be if you had sent your son to Strake Jesuit. Tuition at Strake is 19k per year.

I’ve posted this before, but a girl at my son’s school got a 36 on the ACT - TWICE

over 25% of Rice students have a 35 or 36 on the ACT.

It really really is. They'll take anyone from Texas while being strangely choosy when it comes to Louisiana citizens. LSU is a strange place.
That's not uncommon. I know three chemical engineers from Columbus, Ohio area who were tops in their HS classes but shunned by Ohio State and ended up at Dayton.

This isn’t good enough to get in to the two big state schools? Holy shite, WTF is going on here? Texas has auto enrollment for top 7% and TAMU has it for Top 25%
The problem with the Texas schools is they take kids based upon these percentages regardless of the cohort GPA and test scores. So, while one school might have kids in the top 7% that are all above a 4.0, another school might not have anyone above a 4.0 yet the top 7% get treated the same. It leaves out some really good students.
