Are they legally allowed to do that?

Edit: one of the tech people came into my office and asked for my phone for the contacts. They said they are making a database of customers for the salesmen. They did not elaborate on why they want said database but I imagine it's for the possibility that if the employee moves on they will still have customer information.

I do not get an allowance or reimbursement for using my personal phone for work

Legally, I would find a new job.

Sounds like you work for an insurance company.

All of the salesmen use personal phones so they want to have all of the customers for themselves in case the employee moves on.

Save them to the web, delete them, and let them see them.

Unless you signed something I find it very hard to believe that's legal

Seems like they'd already have contact info for their customers
