The average American cannot even understand what a Fortune 500 CEO even does. He's not your middle manager boss.

Your ceiling at a company is decided within 6 months lmao.
No amount of muh hard work will get you above that ceiling.
Keep sweeping for the ownership class tho. I'm sure you might get a few crumbs.
Inside of the mind of a lazy young punk.

Yep. This board typically despises the vast majority of the companies that are being led by the ceos in the OP. Thread after thread about how woke and riddled with DEI they all are, destroying themselves and America from within.
But dammit those leaders of said woke, dei filled globalist elite corps earned that money!!!!

I am aware enough to realize that the current economic structure is broken and there are a lot of folks suffering out there. Income inequality is at an all time high and inflation is exploding.
This is bleeding heart bullshite. You’re either out of touch or an idiot.

The guy with over 50K post on Tigerdroppings and He/They pronouns in his profile is claiming to be a CEO

Sure...if you take a shitty job and prioritize maximizing starting salary over long term growth and earning potential.
Young hires today are mostly like cats chasing a laser beam and easier to fool than a drunk dog.

LOL WUT?
And yet you post nothing of substance or any data to disprove my statement. Curious.

Mad? I am not the one crying about what other people make.

You've been here 10 years and you don't know who el gaucho is?

That mentality is why you have to replace people every few months in a position.
If you are having a problem with one employee, it’s probably that employee. If you are having problems with dozens of employees, YOU are the problem.

This thread is all over the place. The CEO of a fortune 500 company doesn't know that Earl from the loading dock left for a competitor because they offered him $.25 more per hour.

Agree
The right company culture can go a long way but it has nothing to do with the mentality of understanding what attracts young hires. They by in large want higher starting salaries and are less concerned with long term growth potential.

Stock buybacks, the gov not holding up anti-trust laws are a much bigger problem than ceo pay
Really the only problem with CEOs is when they run a company into the ground doing shady shite, leaving avg people holding the bag and they get off without any consequences

Amazing post, and spot-on...
Most of the posts in this thread demonstrate that the poster lacks even the most basic business acumen, which clearly defines why he/she ( thankfully) is not a CEO.

I read once in a book and it made sense then and rings true today.
Nobody is good at hiring. It's a game of luck and chance. Set your ego to the side because no matter what anyone wants to believe, everyone sucks at it. Some get more lucky than others.
I used to big on training and onboarding but have shifted to more of an coaching, mentoring and educational model and within 6 months I know who will last and who won't.
The key is to get good at firing because nobody is good at hiring. Identify those who you think can cut it and want to grow and pour into them (more than your customers) so they they pour into your clients/customers.

You also have to tell people the reality of what they will be doing, don’t sell them a lie to get them in your door.
Training is a big problem too. Expecting others in their department to train them on every aspect of the job is a sign of a shite company.

It's not super complicated. People want to be recognized for their work. When that's not done, people get jaded and start doing less knowing that the extra effort won't get them anywhere. These corporate cultures will be a detriment to the economy in the long term when they start breeding apathetic workforces.
