But at least it is a step in the right direction

When does the caffeine and codeine breathalyzer come out?

Something tells me Jeff Sessions wants to take us all back into the Weed Stone Age if he has his way during this admin. All Baws, R and L, should keep their eyes on how this will be treated.

What's the timeframe on this? Say I smoke a joint, then drive 3 hours later. Am I good?

The reason why I still don't think this will work is because there still isn't a legitimate way to detect "how high" someone is. For example the legal limit for alcohol is .08, my point being that simply being able to test for if you have recently used doesn't fully solve the problem.

Here's some of his quotes in his career:
quote:
I didn't think the Klan were such bad guys until I found out they smoked marijuana
quote:
"It was the prevention movement that really was so positive, and it led to this decline," he said. "The creating of knowledge that this drug is dangerous, it cannot be played with, it is not funny, it's not something to laugh about, and trying to send that message with clarity, that good people don't smoke marijuana."
On Obama's approach to not enforce federal law in states that have legalized marijuana:
quote:
"beyond comprehension"

I'm all in favor for legalization, and I'm all in favor with enforcement of impaired driving. This sounds like taking the right steps forward.

How many people are gonna overdose from marijuana trying to see how high they can get from this breathlizer?

It's a silly argument to begin with.
How so?

I'm for MJ legalization in every state, but you shouldn't be able to drive under the influence
Why? It's not nearly as dangerous as driving drunk or on opiates.
This is mindless thinking relating pot to alcohol.
I'm not saying it is safe, but the penalty shouldn't be like a dwi, which I'm sure it will be. Meanwhile, texting and driving is still just a traffic ticket.

I never understood how they could legalize weed without this sort of thing. It was actually my only argument against legalizing.
Not that I argued against it, just that I thought that would be a reason not to legalize.

Adderall and a zanex

drive around without repercussions
While part of your statement is true, caffeine, and nicotine are not considered to impair your driving ability- adderal and Xanax are both considered controlled substances and you can get a DUI for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. Adderal may be a little more tricky, because it does not affect people with ADHD the same as it would a normal person- but you would have to have a script for it before you could even argue that point.

What I find hilarious is that I can wake up, pop an Adderall and a zanex, drink a litre of coffee, put in a big dip and drive around without repercussions
Wrong.
