Lee was one of history’s biggest Quitters. He got absolutely dominated.

I love how not liking a politician gives you derangement syndrome.
The things made up by red hats is just too much.

So do you have Clinton derangement syndrome?

Pelosi syndrome. AOC syndrome?

Maybe because the most aggressive pro slavery white supremacist government was defeated. The CSA was the only country in the world hell bent on expanding slavery beyond borders at the time.

Why do so many people say the US Civil War was about slavery and disregard anything else?

People are lazy so it’s the easy answer. How dare you put forth the effort to educate yourself!

People are dumb so propaganda is effective. How dare you listen to other points of view!

So, what does Wikipedia tell you? Please share with the class. Oh yeh. It's allll about slavery, when in fact, has nothing to do with slavery. Step back, and see the picture, not the pixel. I only offer this once more: If saving the Union was about slavery, President Lincoln could've issued the Proclamation of Immancipation

Not to mention that the proclamation only applied to Southern Confederate (Rebellious) States. The Union still got to keep its slave states.

Lee was one of the great men and General’s of the Civil War on either side. He may have only been surpassed by Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson.

Because without slavery they're never would have been a civil war. The war was a direct response to the rise of the Republican Party. Which was an abolitionist party.

It's funny how most of the people in this thread that are celebrating Lee and the confederacy are the same ones who lose their minds when someone doesn't stand for the national anthem.

The emancipation proclamation wasn't to free all slaves just those in captured territory. Also by this time the state houses of Maryland and Deleware were working on legislation to end slavery in their states. There were more black people who owned slaves in Louisiana than slaveholders in Delaware.

There were other reasons for unrest, sure, but if you really boil it down there would have been no war if the south wasn't so antagonistic about keeping slaves.

Same concept with Lee

It’s funny, the first 4 comments in this thread are “Lee is a loser/traitor lulz” type posts. Every single thread where the civil war or confederacy is concerned, the same low IQ smooth brains chime in virtue signaling their complete lack of intelligence.

The other side does the exact same thing when RollTide posts about Grant or a Union victory.

The truth is both were great generals who had flaws.

That anyone who thinks slavery wasn't the root cause of the Civil War is a moron.
