I'd consider Rapid City and the Black Hills area.

My sister in law and her family moved to Fort Collins last summer. It is great having a reason to go and free room and board. I get altitude sickness bad when I’m in the higher parts of Colorado. Meclizine has done the trick for me.

Beautiful state but half is the desert and Denver is getting rediculous.

I find Utah to be much more beautiful and the skiing is better. however it doesn’t compare as you can drink more than a 3% beer and smoke pot in Colorado.

Montana is Colorado without all the hippies

You haven’t been to Missoula or Bozeman have you? Whitefish in the winter is full of hippies, and Glacier country is full of hippies during the summer.

Of course it’s in a relatively smaller scale considering population densities, so for that reason it may seem like there are none here but there are plenty.

CO is great, I make the I-70 Drive from Utah at least once a year, and I love the mountain towns, but I've really grown to love Utah in a little over 4 years here.

Great vibe, easy going city, access to CO, Vegas, Zion/Bryce, WY, ID, MT is all pretty easy. We've been making our way around every park here, and it's awesome.

And if you can do a startup there are fewer places better.

Doubt either one of you have seen a real hippie.

Just a bunch of fakes.

One of my former coworkers grew up in a teepee in Trego, MT. My brother’s girlfriend is also from trego and her entire family lives off the land.

Most people see hippies as being potheads with dreads and piercings. They’re actually low key tree huggers who spend most of their time being self sustainable.

Ok, you might be one of a handful on here who have then.

Yeah, most people have zero clue what they are.

Was rafting recently and my guide had a man bun.

Heard a chick call him a hippie.

I said, he has a man bun and is from Austin , so no.

Went this summer and it was amazing. Stayed in Denver, Black Hawk and Loveland. The Mishawaka on Poudre Canyon road is a must do. The original Oscar Blues in Lyons as well. Between the scenery and the breweries I'd never get any work done if I lived there.

Half of Colorado is plains and half of UT is desert, desert > plains by 1000 though. I live in Summit County Co and I agree that Utah is prettier and much more affordable too, I find myself dreaming about moving one state over more and more these days.

Salt Lake is on my retirement list. So much to do outdoors with a city large enough to keep you entertained as well. It's not quite as weird as Colorado.
