Might not be long before Texas and New Mexico implement something like this. Especially New Mexico.

People in the the South dont understand water is king out west. There has been some nice snow accumulation and good rain in the last three years out west but there were about to be be water wars between western states.

I have a lawyer buddy in Tucson that does nothing but "water law" and makes a fortune representing Counties and municipalities regarding rights and usage of water. Its massive, continuous litigation that never ends. There are federal magistrates in western states that hear only these cases.

I'd take Laramie everyday and twice on Sunday over Cheyenne.

Federal regulations on energy production should trump state regulations “interstate trade”

This is a back door to kill fracking

If I were going to live in one of those mountain west states I’d probably go with Utah. You still get skiing and pretty much the same stuff Colorado offers but without the liberal political nonsense.

In fact Utah is almost too conservative. Total polar opposite. I’d even consider northern New Mexico. Taos is spectacular and you’re not far from Denver for big city amenities

SLC wouldn't be bad, but I think I'd prefer a place like St George. Red rocks, high desert, warmer weather (but a ski resort at Briand Head) and 1.5 hours from Las Vegas when you needed to escape Utah.

the west being short on water is a problem of their own making, dumb environmental bullshite like protecting a fish instead of freeing up available water, have no sympathy for them

There are already companies that do this. I don't think it'll be that cost burden.

Most large operators do already use "re-use water" (frac water) because "freshwater neutral" looks nice on their ESG marketing package

The problem is some formations just don't accept the re-use as well as others

Colorado is the source. They rely on mother nature to provide.
