Colleges to begin adopting cell phone anxiety as accommodation

My friend, a speech pathologist director at a university, voted in the minority of a 28-5 vote this past weekend in Orlando, FL at a conference measuring test anxieties for school children. This push will allow college students (with a goal to move into primary school immediately) to use their cell phones during any assessments and standardized state or national examinations. The reason? Kids today suffer from cell phone anxiety and it hurts their cognition to not be able to check their phones for updates, texts, and other "dings" during the full length of examinations leading to an invalidation of their scores and a negative on their emotional well-being.
Thoughts?

If that reaches high school I’m going into full time college coaching

You don't know what hard times are, daddy.

I think my favorite part of the post is not realizing that if the hard times were WWII, the strong men were those who fought in it, and the good times they created were the 50s, then the weak men that were created couldn’t be the ones born in the 90s and 00s...

I 100% don’t believe this at all.

leading to an invalidation of their scores
We can’t cater to the weak by turning them into the victims of their own poor decisions. That will have a far more negative impact on their emotional well being than telling them the truth that their anxiety is a brew of their own making.

I believe whether times are good or bad is all relative to your own life experience. I've enjoyed a fairly easy life from the mid-60s until now due mostly to my grandparents' hard work, my parents' hard work, and my own hard work.
Grandparents were laborers that made sure my parents were college educated which led to my own college education that I've passed on to my children. None of us besides my grandparents in the Great Depression have lived in hard times.

Anyone that’s a real major war threat to the US is in the same boat.
