What would be the better device for college?

frick, Rexford. Do you want me to schedule your classes, too?

Neither. Use a notebook and transfer to a computer if you want to when you get home.
Laptops offer too many distractions. Trust Scruffy on this one. Anyone who says differently is lying.

Sabi, what should Rexford wear to classes the first day?
Should he look at Greek life?
Should he give his cell number to Mikelbr?
Who should he go to the 1st football game with?

I don't even really know how people use tablets in class or for any class work.
They are good for apps and video use, not much more.

Scruffy, would you suggest that Rexford refer to himself in the 3rd person to any or all of his professors?

Laptop, no question.
But scruffy is right. Notebook for class, then transfer notes to comp.

I had a toshiba that the screen flipped around and you could write notes with a stylus. Worked well as an engineering major because it was easy to save notes that couldn't be typed due to various math symbols. Teachers would even allow it when they said no laptops since I was "taking notes". I definitely looked at funny pictures and played solitaire more than anything else. I don't think I listened to a word in my fluid dynamics class due to that thing. Now I'm completely useless in that field and I actually have a need to know that info

And that is why Scruffy says that you should use a notebook.
Writing notes forces you to pay attention. You then read it twice on the first day if you decide to transfer it to your computer.
It is a very effective learning tool.

Laptop, absolutely.
Sure you can get an adaptable keyboard for tablets, but they aren't very beneficial in college.
If you can get fight off the distraction of the Internet, taking notes with a laptop is great.

Hybrid. I use the ASUS Book Trio. Best of both worlds.
