Went to Lowe's yesterday to pay my bill and on the protected shield in front of the cashier was a sign that said due to the coin shortage if paying by cash please have the correct change. Did not know we had a coin shortage. Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

I’ll have to ask my valet what these coins you speak of are...I’ve never seen one

Just their way of minimizing contact. I’ve seen many businesses not take cash which I didn’t think was allowed.

I would turn in more coins if the coin star thing didn’t take 20-30%

I have, I am guessing, about $1000 in change at the house. I should probably turn it in.

I can grow my own in my yard for mint juleps. This is about coins. Did you post in the wrong thread?

I read the “to pay my bill” part as you went to Lowe’s to pay an outstanding bill you had at Lowe’s. I was really confused for a second.

I have a coin jar and after about a year or so I roll the coins and deposit in my granddaughters college fund. Used to you just drop off the rolls and give the cashier a deposit slip. Now you have to open it up and they count the coins.

My bank has a coin machine and doesn't take anything if you have an account.

This is why the media and local governments annoy the frick out of me. We are told to listen to the experts, yet they don't. CDC said its very difficult to catch it from surfaces, yet we implement ridiculous requirements.

CDC says COVID-19 not caught easily from surfaces and 40% of transmission occurs before people feel sick

Most of our coins are made in China. When the coin factories start back up at full capacity it should return to normal pretty quick.

I've seen $2 nickle rolls go for $3 on ebay. Crazy times.

Off topic. Thanks to this site and TulaneLsu, I'm now the high bidder on several Roman silver coins.

I bought one lot of us .50 coins (around $2 worth) for less than face value including shipping on eBay
