Actually use it every day in place of butter when cooking like eggs, biscuits, etc.

Only use it for cooking, but it's the only high heat oil I use. Otherwise it's butter or olive oil for low or no heat.

I put coconut oil in my coffee, use it to sauté chicken, beef, and onions, and I slather it all over your girl's titties before I splooge on 'em.

It's the basis for the "medical food" Axona (FDA classification), which is promoted as an add-on/alternative treatment for Alzheimer's. The main ingredient is caprylic triglyceride (part of the supposed active ingredient in coconut oil). The mechanism isn't necessarily related to the medium chain fatty acid itself, but its metabolism to ketones that can potentially serve as an alternative energy source for brain cells (that can no longer use glucose).

Use coconut nectarinstead of sugar as a sweetener.
I am usually a skeptic about stuff like this, but my wife made me a bulletproof coffee, and I was amazed that it actually kept me more focused and alert for hours without the crash. You're welcome OT.

I strongly doubt there is anything special about coconut oil that makes it better for your memory than any other saturated fats. But yes, healthy fats are good for your brain.

quote:Obviously BS because coconut oil is very mild in flavor. I use it to pop popcorn, since pre-bagged popcorn sucks arse compared to stove-popped popcorn.

coconut oil is mct fats and has shown promise to help brain diseases such as Alzheimer's. Its really the C6-C8 chain fats you want, which is why i use brain fuel from bulletproof coffee as my source for mct's.
I do use coconut oil to cook when I need high heat or grape seed oil for high heat. I use grass fed butter for everything else except olive oil for low or no heat.
