It will be a 3-hour excursion, but if you haven't done your business in the St. Landry Visitor's Center, you haven't lived. Hats off to the crew that runs that place. It is very quiet, and very clean. It is incredibly modern and out of place compared to every other gas station on 49, and I don't understand what is going on at the visitor's center or why anyone would stop there other than to relieve themselves, but if you're going to stop in Scott for boudin anyway, go ahead and do so, then turn around and head back up 49 to the rest stop, and then continue on to LC. Bon chance.

I always stop in Iowa at the gas station by Burger King. I can’t remember the name of the gas station but it’s recently remodeled

That looks awesome. I followed a billboard’s promise of clean bathrooms and the whole place was like a cigarette filled port-o-potty.
