It was easy to keep homes clean 50 years ago when most families had 2 parents living off of a single income. It’s a lot harder to keep stuff clean when all the adults in the house work full time.

Ehh, it’s really only hard if you’re a fricking slob.

Who would call someone that rude back? I’m obsessed with cleaning and very OCD, but I wouldn’t put up with anyone that I’m paying a fortune to tell me what to do in my own home.

He is the only game in a small town. He doesn't mind losing a little business now and then.

Has anyone noticed how disgusting and filthy some people keep their houses? There is no common denominator either. Young and old alike, it seems a large majority of the populous just don’t care. Is this phenomenon getting worse?

This is complete and utter bullshite.

The #1 excuse for lazy arse slobs.

Pick up your shite and clean up behind yourself and your house won't be a disgusting disaster.

once you have toddlers, come talk to me. It is remarkable how fast they just destroy a clean room. It takes years to train them to pick up their stuff.

I work in an industry where we send servicemen into peoples homes. You would be absolutely surprised how many half-million dollar homes are absolutely filthy inside.

That's insane. You you are going to buy a half-million dollar house.. Hire someone to come clean. That makes no sense.

There was one on this morning where they removed so much stuff that joists and beams and shite started giving way. The hoard was basically all that was keeping the house up.

I'll go months without dusting or washing my bedding, but I won't let a dish sit in the sink for more than 30 seconds. Dirty kitchens are disgusting.

There is....IQ. I have gone into homes that are well below what should be the standard for a human to habitat, and all of them were special needs to some degree

Half million dollar home is middle class in a lot of big American cities these days.

ETA:
I speak from experience

Still not an excuse to have a nasty house, but it also doesn't mean we can afford a maid to come a lot. And both of us work full time so we have to waste weekends cleaning. Sucks.
