I live near Memphis, fiancée works there, I CCW a Glock 26 with a 15rd mag and a spare everywhere I go. We went to eat lunch a local Indian joint, when we got home I took my gun/holster off my belt and she asked if I had been carrying the whole time.

Do what Australia did. It started as a British penal colony in 1787. US should use deserted islands in the middle of the Pacific ocean (there are at least 22 known) and send violent/habitual offenders to these islands.

The thing about random acts of violence is that they are random. There's no such thing as an intrinsically safe place to live unless you can afford armed guards. Choosing to live somewhere were we have a combined household income above $300k is not exactly sad either

1. Stop the government incentives to have children out of wedlock. If necessary institute dis-incentives to further discourage it.
2. End no-fault divorce. Assess the facts and whoever is really at fault ends up taking it in the shorts financially, not just automatically the man.
3. Communities have got to exert social pressure to keep families intact. That used to happen through the church. I have no idea how they'll do it now, but it's got to happen.
4. I would say repeal the 19th amendment, but that would never happen.
Notice there are no direct strategies regarding guns. That's not the problem. 80 years ago we had more access to guns than we do today, zero access to legal abortion, little welfare to speak of (compared to today) and a tiny fraction of the problems.
Because 80% of households had fathers at home. Black and white.

frick that. They don't give a frick. They need to enclose them in a certain area and tell them to have at it, you just can't go beyond a certain point. Like their own reservation.
That's it. In parts of the cities that have high crime rates.. Give them the land. Here.. Establish your own government or don't.. Build it up.. or don't.. Kill each other... whatever. Do whatever yall want, but in order to go beyond that area legally they have to get approved, etc.

If the two sides were to “go at it,” you’d hear all this shooting from one side and a couple of well placed shots from the other side. It would be very lopsided.

Given my complexion I could be wrong about this, but I don't think actually hitting the target is the main priority.
I think the main priority is how they look when they're shooting.

It starts at home, two parent households with a mother and FATHER that actually care would be a great start. LBJ got the ball rolling on the destruction of the Black family and it hasn’t been the same since. Other than that the laws have to be enforced by judges who care more about the safety of the community, compared to social justice causes. It can be done but this country doesn’t have the stomach for it and I’m not talking about locking up everyone that gets popped for nonviolent drug crimes. The people that are having gun battles in the middle of the city/town street’s without any regard for anyone else have to be dealt with severally and swiftly, not a slap on the wrist and let right back out into the community.
