Going to a concert there next month and have never been. Is it a good venue?

It's definitely nice. For whatever reason though the shows I've seen there have been lackluster.

Nice venue, good acoustics, easy drink accessibility, seating designed for 8 year old pygmy midget dwarfs.

I really like it. It's quite beautiful on the inside.

I have found that the best place to stand is just to either side of the sound booth right behind the railing. You get an amazing view of the stage (no one blocking your view) and easy access to the bar, plus the sound is great since it's what the booth guy is basing the adjustments off of.

Legit spot and with Bowery Presents booking, they're really hitting their stride.

Saw John Mullaney in January over there. Really nice place. Would go to another event in there.

Good venue. Went to a great wedding there. Sound blows for a rock concert though.

Beg to differ. After they softened the room, it sounds good to me. Brand New was loud as shite and sounded good.

This. This concert was hands down amazing. I recorded a few clips on my iPhone and it sounds pretty decent.

I saw a show there a few months ago. Seems like there wouldn't be a bad seat in the house.

This one thing that bother me, especially upstairs.
This also may be a little paranoid on my part, but I always scout out the fire exits whenever I go to a venue and I will never sit upstairs there again.

Every seat in the house is a good one.

I've been once and sat upstairs. I'm 6'-6" so I'm used to tight leg room and having to fold up like an accordion. Their seating is ridiculously tight though. My normaler sized buddies even thought so.

this might literally be the first thread ive ever seen thats high on the sound there. its normally a big question mark, at best.

my experience has been that since they reinvested a TON of money into the acoustics after an AWFUL start, that it can now be decent if you have a talented guy on the board for the band.

i tend to err on the side of assuming itll be so-so and be pleasantly surprised if its great. i trailed off on going to as many shows there, but seen similar sentiment echoed even by musicians that have played shows and attended shows there.... even since the attempt to fix it.

if they finally figured it out - thatd be awesome news though.

I agree that it is a cool venue and the sound is excellent. However, I've been to three separate shows there and I HATE the bar setup. There is one long bar near the main entrance, and the lines quickly become a crowded mess. They were not allowing bar tabs none of the times I've been, so having the majority of the crowd pay with CC for every order definitely extends the wait.

If they fixed the bar tab issue then it is definitely an all-around fun venue. Not a bad seat in the house.
