They remapped the districts before the last election. That one was the closest to 50%.
. They could actually use a little g'mandering... tbh they are drawn to pretty damn solid

Well considering Stacy Head was the previous District B councilperson I'd say so
why was I thinking she was he councilwoman in Algiers (15th ward, aka dat won pernt five) ?

No Walt Leger yet ???

No Sidney Torres yet?

You'd think this recent garbage going down in the city, Sidney would jump into the junk pile and start metaphorically talking of taking the trash out.

ill honestly admit I have been completely slacking on local politicking of this past 12 months or so once I got burned out over the shite show national elections in November.......

Seriously I'm usually on top of them way more than anything else.....

The poli Talk has turned into the russuan conspiracy kook board. Complete joke and that's probably the top board I visit... sucks.

But for the most part I read true advocate and times local and state politics and don't get much from TD anyway. With the low of local races, TD could actually become a decent stuml spot if you ask me

Of the current candidates I would probably support Cantrell. She goes a little overboard with the overegulation of business, like Guidry, but she can see the big picture and probably will not screw things up too much. Don't know much about Charbonnet. Bagneris is smart and would be entertaining but a fricking disaster, kind of like Nagin. I have met few people with bigger egos than Bagneris. The picture of himself in his CDC courtroom that he commissioned literally was of him floating above the clouds. Everyone else is beneath him, in his world.

This district (Uptown, LGD, Irish Channel, Central City, Warehouse District, parts of Mid-city) was only 54% AA as of the 2010 census, and has had a lot of gentrification since then. Could a white candidate win here?

Yes. It was head's before Cantrell's. Whoever carries central city wins. There's a good documentary out there about Stacy head and the work she had to do to get a little of that vote.

Unfortunately, blacks will vote on color of skin.

Mitch's grandfather is listed as black in the 1900 census. How do you think Miss Piggy got hips and arse that big?

Those districts are pretty clearly drawn to make sure there is no majority white district. Lake Vista in D with the 7th ward? Lakeview and hurstville with gert town & pigeon town...

Would be equally fricked up if they made districts to marginalize the black vote
