Isn’t one of the fixer upper type shows there?

Yes, it’s called Home Town. They do a really good job on the houses, IMO. It’s shocking how cheap real estate is there.

I-10 in the East would be a much worse place to break down. I feel like I see another article about a shooting on I-10 in the East every week.

I’ve never been impressed drinking through Indianapolis but I’ve never peeled the onion back and drove around and hung out in that city either. Draw a line from the southern point of Illinois all the way to Chicago and I don’t see how people live there. I thought Portland sucked. Jackson. Memphis. Tallahassee. Montgomery. Maybe it’s just me but most downtowns in all these cities across the country could use a facelift. I guess everyone hauls arse to the suburbs.

Nashville is one of the only Cities and surrounding areas that looks nice driving in on the interstate

Passing through Franklin and Williamson county is beautiful heading in

When returning from a long trip to Chicago I was pleasantly surprised while heading south through Louisville. The entry bridge over a scenic Ohio River was quickly followed by the Louisville Sluggers stadium, then a smallish but modern, stylistic University of Louisville football stadium, then Churchill Downs and then the Equestrian complex. Impressive in such a small stretch of highway.

Next up was Nashville and a big disappointment from an interstate perspective.

I've been to Tacoma many times. It isn't very scenic from the interstate but it's been over 20 years since I've been there.
It probably looks about the same. Main issue is it runs past the port and the major industrial areas.

Never been there, and I'm told it's dirty and depressing, but the cityscape looks kind of cool in pictures.

With Tacoma it’s the smell, not the view from the freeway that’s bad.

Yeah, there's a paper mill you can smell by the dome but most of the "Tacoma Aroma" was from the old Asarco smelter that was torn down. It's nothing compared to what it used to be.

Probably, a different road I'm sure, but when I drove home from Detroit (which goes without mentioning that it is a depressing city to ride through), I was downright impressed with the view of Cincinnati from the interstate. Very cool looking downtown and it looked very nice, at least from the interstate.
