Drive I-95 from Richmond, VA to Boston, MA and you’ll conclude everything you’ve mentioned is a virtual paradise compared to that stretch.

Agreed. I drive through there 6-8 times per year. The chicken plant, some government housing/projects and a run down hospital.

Gary, IN. Ugliest I’ve seen in the US. Also agree with the poster who mentioned Juarez as you are driving through El Paso. Total shithole.

We stop there to eat a lot on the way to Birmingham. I don't remember the particular exit but traffic can be a beast around there for a city that size.

Why does i49 not continue south of Laffy to New Orleans?

It’s supposed to, and much of US 90 has been upgraded to interstate grade, but the stretch from I-10 to New Iberia hasn’t. They’ve been debating where to put an I-49 connecter road for like 20 years. They cannot just upgrade Evangeline because it runs straight through the main black neighborhood of Lafayette.

I don't know how many have been here but my city, Tacoma, WA, looks awful from I-5. Also, Montgomery looks pretty shitty from the interstate. Looks pretty bad from the surface roads as well.

I would actually say downtown Jacksonville has one of the nicer views from the interstate because you have a great view of the water and skyscrapers while elevated crossing the St Johns river on I95.

This and you can smell coffee in the air with the Maxwell House plant not far away

I've been to Tacoma many times. It isn't very scenic from the interstate but it's been over 20 years since I've been there.

Well it does sort of. It’s called hiway 90 and is basically an interstate with 4 lanes all the way to N. O.

Isn’t one of the fixer upper type shows there?

I live in Temple, TX and we look awful from I35

All you see from the interstate is a Motor mile, Target, Home Depot, Chili’s, Cracker Barrel, and train station/industrial park.

It’s a very pretty city towards the lake and beautiful in the spring and fall, but our I35 footprint is ugly. Probably for the better. Austinites have started moving here.

All of the La cities.

Shreveport from the Texas line on ghetto ratchet city.

Monroe and West Monroe, you start to smell it before you see it.

Lake Charles, looks like a complete shite hole with a death trap bridge.

Lafeyette, you never even know you passed it except for seeing hotels and an Academy.

Baton Rouge is beautiful from the top of the bridge with Tiger Stadium and the Capital in the distance. Then you descend the hill into hell.

New Orleans, what can I say, the city where people forgot to clean. Decades and Decades of trash.
