Baton Rouge movie buffs soon will be able to recline in plush oversized, electric recliners with a cup holder and footrest while watching their favorite flicks at the Perkins Rowe Cinemark.

As part of a $2.36 million renovation project, Cinemark Holdings, Inc. is adding its new “luxury loungers” to all 16 auditoriums, as well as changing the signage, and creating a party room and break room inside the 58,000-square-foot theater.

The project is expected to begin in mid-March and last until mid-July.

Did the problem with the undesirables going there in masses ever get fixed?

So, like Movie Tavern. Those seats are pretty nice.

Hasn't really been an issue.

Perkin's Rowe started cracking down generally.

This has redounded to the theater to a degree.

I agree it was at one point. Lots of unsupervised teens being noisy. lots of riff raff trashing up the joint. It would get pretty dirty in there.

Something changed whether it was a new manager or new policies but I really have noticed an improvement

The new seats are going to be awesome!

How much are ticket prices going up? I'm perfectly happy with their current chairs.

They're almost all broken. Much needed repairs

Me too. I have enough trouble staying awake through an entire movie as it is. Put me in a recliner and I just paid $30 for a 2 hour nap

We got these at our Marcus Theatre a few years back. They are awesome. Lots of room to recline and still walk down the aisle. Also the seats are numbered so when you buy your tickets you choose your seats. They added a nice bar and upgraded the food. I didn't really notice a bump in ticket prices either. Although once you sit in these seats you'll be spoiled forever. Regular seats suck balls now.
