If we went by the Mason Dixon line, Washington DC would be a southern city.

Columbus is the best city in Ohio.

Cincy is tolerable.

Cleveland blows.

The KY-OH airport. Fun for sales and property tax purposes.

ETA - That ain't the south. Neither is Southwest Florida

The Kentucky side could be considered borderline southern. It’s kind of like the Bible Belt, a lot of truck nuts and bass pro shops in that part of the world.

Cincinnati is not “southern” at all. It’s basically a bunch of yankee fudge packers just like the rest of Ohio.

Yep, at the very least. The same for southern Illinois; more than borderline in the boot-heel area of Arkansas/Missouri/Illinois. That's a very southern area.

They are both identical, outside of the city itself is just country folks

We have pretty much established it is not southern. It is also not Mid-western. It is about 2500 miles to the Pacific and 500 to the Atlantic. That is not the middle of anything.

It is either a middle eastern city or it does not exist.

There are aspects of Cincy that feel somewhat Southern, but it’s definitely more Midwestern than not.

Frankly, it’s more of an Appalachian city than anything else. Definitely feels distinctly different from places like Cleveland, Indy, Detroit, Chicago, etc.

Can’t ride the coasters at Cedar Point? Which, by the way, has the greatest collection of roller coasters in the world.

Cincinnati is a city of neighborhoods-neighborhoods with strong ethnic identities. This is more of a Yankee thing (Chicago, New Yawk, Boston) than it is a southern thing. The neighborhoods still have some of their ethnic butchers and bakeries.

And Cinci natives (I have some in my family by marriage) are quick to call anyone to the south of them 'Hillbillies'. Surely they wouldn't want to be identified with such folk!

I used to work for a company HQ’d in Cincinnati. People there certainly freaked out about snow similar to a southern city.

There is something different about Cincinnati though. More like Louisville than Columbus or Cleveland in terms of culture.

Columbus is not the best city in Ohio. I agree with the other two.

Also Cincinnati doesn’t have a southern feel at all.

Not Southern at all. Their cops look like Aggie cheerleaders.

Yep. I know a woman from there tha acts like it’s fricking NYC compared to Jax. Laughable. I’ve been to cincy. It’s midwestern but has the worst elements of both the south and Midwest with a healthy dose of Appalachia for good measure.
