I keep mine in a half gallon mason jar sealed. Some are several years old and have some mold on them but they are still good

Moldy cigars are absolutely not 'still good'.

You are not a guy that really likes cigars if your intention is to chew on them.

In your case, I would purchase Backwoods and call it a day.

No offense, but buying boutique or expensive cigars is just a waste of money if your intention is to chew the end.

Is there a certain type, brand, or style of cigar that is the best or know for being good to chew?

I saw an old guy more or less eat a cigar as he taught a two hour continuing education class.

One of the more bizarre things I’ve seen in person.

Cigars and pipes aren't trashy. Cigs and weed are.

I had an uncle that smoked King Edwards down to the nub, then chewed it.

But he was borderline insane, so I never thought much about it.

How is the pipe any worse for you than a cigar? You aren’t inhaling either of them.

It's not. Neither of them are very dangerous if you enjoy in moderation, but even chain smoking cigars or pipes is safer than cigarettes.

How long do You keep your cigars in a humidor before smoking them? I have several in mine that have been there for 10 years

If kept properly I thought cigars could last basically forever

I’ve got a friend who owns a cigar conglomerate. He has more than 200 boxes of pre-embargo Cubans in pristine condition. Cigars, if properly kept, can last a long long time.

I almost became a cigar smoker. A friend of mine had some good ones and told me where to order them from. Right before I ordered them I sat down at a coffee shop next to a guy who had his larynx cut out because of a throat cancer from cigar smoke. He said his doctor told him there's always smoke in the throat whether you inhale or not, hence the throat cancer.

Certainly a risk...but its pretty rare for a cigar smoker to have cancer related to smoking cigars. Its not risk free like so many of us claim.

I mean, that's what, 60+ years?

He'd have to kept them in a perfect, climate-controlled room for that entire period to avoid any hatching of those worms.

If anyone could do it, he likely could given his business, but that's a long time..

I agree, I don’t know anything about cigars. I have just seen a few old guys that I run into in the area and they are always chewing them.

I didn’t know if there was a certain kind for that.

One of the guys is maybe 80 and looks like boss hog and I see him in the grocery store riding the motorized cart chewing them and it looks as if that’s all he does with them.
