This world that we live in where people hate and kill? I know it's nothing new but it's still fricking sad.

The state senator had a very promising future. He was elected to the State House in his early 20s and was campaigning with Clinton earlier in the day. Sad.

I don't get it... are you using this as a platform to preach the religion of peace?

About right statistically.
Most black on black deaths are gang related.
Most muslim terror deaths are attributed to Allah.
Most white mass murders are mentally ill and choose victims based on an altered view of the world.
I take exception to the Muslim thing. Their terrorists are the equivalent of the Westboro Church. So they're just fricked up.

It started pretty much immediately after the reports started coming out.

Not very promising if he was campaigning with Clinton.

No, it's a pic blowing up on social media. Sorry for the lack of explanation.

How many mass shootings have there been in the US in the last thirty years?

The picture is racist yo. Why do the muslim and black shooter get cool guns and the white guys get walmart price guns?

He appeared to be a real good man. A real leader. I'm very saddened by this.

In the future, I wonder if people who take certain medications, or who have taken them or those diagnosed with any form of mental illness..will not be able to purchase or own a firearm. Much like how the law is for those with a prior felony.

i just saw this news this morning. i was doing important stuff late last night (ie, reading up about game of thrones and watching porn before bed)
if people want to have an actual conversation, making illogical points that ignore reality (like that pic or SS's comment about prison/slaves) doesn't exactly properly set the table for a rational, logical discussion. but i forget, valuing logic is showing my cultural and racial bias. i need to check my privilege

I hope not. That opens the door to complete control... it could get to the point where an ingredient in Aspirin is on the list that would eliminate you from being able to own a firearm.
Instead of focusing on the gun aspect, focus should be on the mental illness itself.

I was thinking about this recently. There are two sides to this.
Yes, I believe that might be a good idea. I know gun rights nuts will hate this opinion but it's a decent idea to get them out of the hands of "mentally ill" people.
This is from a guy who carries every single day and has a gun 10 feet from me right now.
The other side is gun owners with mental issue will be more reluctant to get help at the thought of losing their guns.
However, let's say someone was baker acted here in Florida. If they are determined to have severe mental issues I think it might be a good idea to at least temporarily remove the threat.
HOWEVER, this will do nothing to curb black on black gun violence and it will NEVER prevent an Adam Lanza situation.
So in short, it's a good idea but will do very little to curb mass murders like this. Especially when most of these mass murderers were never officially diagnosed with any mental issue before committing the murders.
EDIT: I'm wrong here in the case of the Aurora shooter. That guy should have never had access to a gun.
