One other thing about CoH..they broadcast every service inside 14 correctional facilities across the state of Alabama...so maybe thats why he's wanting to set up a church in this neighborhood

Like I've always heard, the Sunday morning church hour is the most racially segregated hour of the week.

well if creates a good community center and a place to get kids off the street then its worth a shot.
I just don't think anyone in that community is going to want to interact with some dude named Bronson, Brendan, or Calen.

All I know is that Chris used to work for Dino at HP....then Chris left to start his own church before Dino got himself in trouble.....my understanding is that Chris took him under his wing and gave him a fresh start in Bham...I dont think Dino did anything illegal...It was just an affair and that now it's really huh hush//
All this is spot on. I went to HPC for 10 years and stopped attending about 2 years after he left and it wasn't b/c of Dino. HPC got too big for us. I believe after Dino wrote a book and started getting a lot of royalties they started upgrading their lifestyle. Dino is laid back and grew up on South Carolina near the beach. He was very transparent about his younger years....surfing and smoking dope and then found God when he was 19/20. He drove a POS VW for many years while I was attending. I tend to think his wife, Dylnn, wanted the high-end life style and million dollar home. As far as him straying with the younger woman? Well...what can I say? He f'd up!

I said earlier in the thread posted on the poli board that this is all about money and both sides are guilty as hell. This guy doesn't want the Church of the Highlands organization moving in and sucking up all that offering plate money. He probably has a nice little operation going on and doesn't need a mega-church muscling in on his territory. As far as CoH goes, I find the idea of running a church like it's Walmart to be extremely seedy. Whatever their message is, it takes a back seat to a business model that strategically builds satellite mega-churches around the state and then passes around the collection plate every hour or so, raking in millions a week. The worst part is that this business (make no mistake, that's what it is) operates tax free because it is exempt from tax laws because it is a "church".

CoH doesn’t pass around a collection plate nor does he give a message about tithing.

So how exactly are they paying for all of those multimillion dollar churches they are building around the state? Am I supposed to believe they are just blessed and god is so good? I'm all ears, convince me that is it not a huge money making operation.
Edit: I just googled their budget. For 2016, the budget for CoH was 86 million dollars. I want to know where that kind of cash comes from if no one is tithing and there is no collection plate.

He don't want them white people taking his people out of "his house." It's bad for bidness, brother

You know people do tithe on their own, Hodges also has ARC, he sells books, videos, I assume he gets paid for speaking
You do realize the Catholic Church passes around collection baskets at every Mass every weekend? If it’s so wrong then why don’t people bitch about the Catholic Church doing it?

So he is funding all of these churches by selling books, videos and speaking fees? I think you confirmed what I said, when you said people do tithe. There may not be a physical collection plate, but they are raking in millions from their members.
I don't have an issue with tithing per say, it's the business model. I find running any church like it's Walmart to be extremely distasteful. It's nothing but a homogenization of organized religion for the sole purpose of raking in millions of dollars annually. It's non denominational for a reason. It's a safe approach to attract anyone and everyone who wants to go to church, but doesn't want the guilt associated with sitting there knowing they are living a shitty lifestyle. Both pastors in this story are after the same thing, money. The racist old pastor in the op just doesn't want the large corporation running his small business hustle out of business.

It seems this thread has turned into bashing CoH instead of addressing the stupidity of the pastor of New Era
These are the murders around his church in 2017. The only thing he is worried about is losing church members / money. Because he sure isn't out doing work in his community.

What do you think CoH and Hodges are getting out of broadcasting his services in 14 correctional institutions across the state of Alabama? You think those prisoners are sending him money? I seriously doubt it.
Look I get what you’re saying, I’m not a member of the church but I have been to the main campus, I’ve met Hodges and Dino. I’ve listened to Hodges speak a few times. I haven’t given either one of them one single red cent, but I don’t really care if other people do. I don’t care what other people do with their money.

Ok thats fair. I hope COH is a good church. And im glad for your good experience.

And wtf is up with COH college? Everyone seems to gloss over the fact Jesus was anti money and organized religion. Totally agree with your statement that this beef is between two hustlers trying to make a buck.

Drove by this church back in January/February and the sign at the time caught my eye.
