Jesuit has 1200 with 8th grade. 9-12 is the one that counts for LHSAA. There are more Catholics in NOLA than BR

Nah that EA/St. Amant dynamic is very strong. St. Theresa struggles with enrollment at the middle school level.
A HS would come in with B class maybe 2A type enrollment numbers. Basically would pull 100% from St. Michael.

Sorry, LSUPride, whatever figure you are quoting has nothing to do with Jesuit’s enrollment. Enrollment, by definition, is how many students are actually in school. Jesuit’s is 1368.
Of course, as I pointed out, Jesuit does have an 8th grade. However, as I also pointed out, it is not 400 strong. Not even close.
Go recalculate.

You can believe in Sharia law but if you can play football and are reasonably decent kid any of those schools will admit you.

I don’t think a lot of Zachary/Central/Baker kids are going there from Catholic elementary schools. Sure, a few are.
Central incorporating really was about the final straw for Redemptorist. I grew up out there and a lot of Catholic kids from Central went to Redemptorist back in the early to mid 90s.

Of course it adds up because it’s happening— but “what” is happening
More kids are going to school in the largest metro area in the state. The public school system in the two largest parishes in that area are bad. The Catholic schools in tgst area have been historically good. They have been around a very long time.

Very. Also catholic culture is more prevalent in NOLA Metro. Baton Rouge was majority Protestant for most of its history up until late 20th century. Hence NO Mardi Gras parades until 1980’s….

2. This is high school 9-12. Apples to apples for all schools. The state head counts every single student. It’s an official publication. No need for me to recalculate anything. Jesuit has 963 average over the last 3 years in 9-12

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) has just unveiled its enrollment figures for the upcoming 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years, setting the stage for a crucial reclassification period. In a process that commenced with schools submitting their enrollment data in October, these numbers will serve as the foundation for determining the classification and realignment of schools over the next two years. The outcomes of this classification will significantly impact the landscape of extracurricular activities governed by the LHSAA.

I believe they lose alot of good athletes to Ascension public schools
Negative.
More students, especially athletes, move from Ascension middle schools to CHS than from Catholic middle schools to AP schools. St. Theresa may be the one exception.

Catholic is the Baton Rouge version of Brother Martin
And Catholic doesn’t deny anyone anymore - if they ever did. And if you can’t read or write or speak - but can play football - you get a free ride

Catholic is a athletic school. If you are not a athlete you are steered elsewhere.

hose that can’t get into Catholic go to st Michaels, U High, Parkview, Dunham, Episcopal, etc
I’ve witnessed those who can’t get into U-High go to Catholic….
Unless you are a stud athlete or have some pull from LSU, the lab school is extremely hard to get into.

Imagine how much higher the average would be if it wasn’t for all the illiterate athletes.
The only similarity between CHS and BM is they’re both Brothers of the Sacred Heart schools. Redemptorist and Brother Martin is a way better comparison when it was open.

quote:Thanks, I guess. I didn't know they did that manner of calculation. I haven't followed HS sports much since the 1980s. I saw your table and skipped the divide by 2 part. I'll do better next time.
Jake be better please. I expect so much more from you
