Has Chrysler ever made an SUV/crossover? Everyone is dropping cars these days, so them only offering one isn’t surprising. They could try to dip into the suv/crossover sector, but would that be smart to do at this point?

Chrysler minivans sold more than the field last year. Again, I dont think you understand the concepts of parent companies here.

Chrysler is not the parent company of Dodge, Ram, and Jeep. Chrysler is a brand owned by FCA.
Fiat-Chrysler (FCA) is not a brand, it is the parent company. You can’t buy a car branded FCA. Fiat is a brand, and Chrysler is a brand.

I don't see why FCA doesn't reposition Chrysler as a legitimate luxury brand of the company. Similar to what Lincoln is to Ford and Cadillac to GM. The spinoff of Ram into it's own brand made little sense to me. Let Dodge be the mainstream brand with all lines of vehicle, Jeep as a specialty SUV line and Chrysler as a luxury line.

Chrysler is usually paired up with Dodge, Jeep, and Ram dealers.

Technically, they have Alfa and Maserati as their luxury lines.
Also, people don’t buy anything besides suv’s these days, so money would need to be spent on R&d and advertising to get a luxury Chrysler suv out. Sedans and coupes aren’t moving the needle.
Easier for them to just have high trimmed Jeeps.

Too late for that. Chrysler is too entrenched where it is, which is about equivalent to where Oldsmobile was. No one will pay top dollar for a Chrysler. With only two vehicles and none on the way, yeah I could see Chrysler going the Eagle or Pontiac route. Anything with a Chrysler plate could just be Dodge.
