He did, but not in the continental US.

I know he landed in the Bahamas and hit most of the major islands in the Caribbean, but I didn't know he made it to the mainland.

But even if so, did he ever conduct widespread massacres of people?

"a region once sacred to tribal communities."

I mean, what region wasn't once sacred to tribal communities? They were highly spiritual, nomadic people. Wherever they happened to be on any given day was considered sacred.

i guess the US will be a monument/statue/artless country going forward. all buildings and streets will be named after random colors/objects/numbers/animals

we are already a super young country, it's amazing how beautiful the outdoor areas are and how many ornate public works of art there are when you visit places in Europe that have a lot longer history.

right now we are cancelling people for an "offensive" hallween costume from 10 years ago...if the standards constantly change and then we allow current groups to place pressure of whatever "new unproblematic criteria" they decide, nothing and no one will ever be good enough long term.

the whole thing is fricking absurd

He explored a lot of the Central American coast on his 4th voyage.

Maybe if you count introducing smallpox.

This. I am not aware of one square inch of the earth that wasn't taken by force from another group by its current inhabitants. The farther back in time you go, the more violence and atrocity probably accompanied that occurrence. Every single nation, region, country, culture, religion, etc. has plenty of this in their history, which is why this selective outrage 500 years later is retarded.

Good call, that is exactly what it is like.
Really? A municipal government peacefully removing the statue and then this:

quote:

The city will put the statue in safekeeping at a secure city facility with the guidance of the Columbus Art Commission, McKay Lodge Art Conservation Laboratory, and Smoot Construction.

..."is exactly like" a religious cult bombing ancient relics?

Actual history is being overrun by half truths and rumored history written by suspect historians. Sad times

Do you have any idea how much money it would cost to rename a city of that size?

Like every single street sign, interstate sign, map, food truck pamphlet, down to even call girl business cards

You cant just rename a city with 1 million people

Bunch of retards
