We grabbed something made just for this. They are green scented sticks that you can hang deep into the fake tree and they are pine scented. Honestly it smells awesome in our apartment now.

Artificial is trashy.

Natural rapes the environment.

Real. They do have fake trees that look nice nowadays, but I still prefer real.

Artificial. I can put it up in the attic and use it again next year, and the next year, etc.

Pay the extra money for a fancy artificial one and you'll never miss a real one again. They're real-looking, smell real, and are huge. I dropped $700 on one years ago and haven't looked back.

I love real trees, but they're a pain in the arse. I've had real for the past 5 years now and having to haul it off, sweep up all the needles, keep water in the base, wrap the lights, etc. I said frick all that and went and bought a fake one this year.

I loved having real trees growing up (when I wasn't the one that had to clean up after them).

These days? Screw that. A couple of years ago the wife and I bought a really nice 7.5ft pre-lighted, artificial fir for a couple hundred and have never regretted it. If I ever get desperate for a tree scent I'll just open a bottle of Pine-Sol.

My very first Christmas as a 4 month old, my parents got a real tree and put it up on Christmas Eve.... Well apparently I'm allergic and my throat swelled up and I had an Anaphylactic reaction and spent my first Christmas morning in the ER.

We never had a real tree again

Artificial without question. Took five minutes to set up Sunday with fancy and colorful blinking lights included.

Natural. Still like going to cut the tree down.

Both. We have a really nice fake tree we set up after thanksgiving that the misses sets up. We'll get a smaller real tree for that little ones to decorate.

Wait until after Christmas to buy the fake on. You can find them up to 50% off

I prefer a real tree. I like the whole process of going to select one from a tree farm. Also, you can't deny that the smell great.

I don't understand the hassle that some of you complain about. A Dyson or a dust buster will pick up all of the fallen needles in less than 20 seconds.

Additionally, bending over and pouring a big glass of water into the base takes all of a whopping 5-10 seconds. I'm not too sure that's a big daily hassle.

I just bought an artificial and it looks pretty darn good. Real is just too much of a hassle to me and I never liked how they can start to dry out and become a fire hazard.
