I invite you and yours to my Christmas wonderland in cozy Kennebunkport this festive season. Holly donning every icy limb, tealights scented with toasted cinnamon, hot chocolate and marshmallows in every shop. Oh, it’s so grand!

naw we all have our issues. I honestly posted without really reading your original post, and just assumed your fam didnt like christmas. I worked in mental health for 8 and a half years until july of this year. It is a serious problem that is being overlooked by our legilature and governing bodies. #1 budget cuts each year, no awareness, carries a stigma... but its very real, and can happen to anyone. It destroys lives and families. I am sorry i was insensitive, but i really didnt even read your entire post tbh.

Christmas stuff has been out at Home Depot since the beginning of October.
This is the third Xmas in our house, and finally finished with remodeling issues. I’m going full Griswald this year. We’ll have the most trashy decor house in our little uptown bubble. The guy on St. Charles across the street from ASH won’t even be able to hold a candle to what I’m about to do.

I love Christmas, but it really can be a shitshow season and you have to plan around it
-Avoiding several square miles of Buckhead for the next 2 months because of Santa and people who still don't shop online for whatever reason
-There are several restaurants we'll avoid due to the insanity of work/family Christmas parties. I'm sure they make tons of money and the employees do too, but seems like it's a total nightmare.

I do agree with you here. When you think about it, it really is.
There is the Christmas shopping. You have to get gifts for people who will give you a gift of equal value and it's usually something you end up putting up somewhere and rarely use.
Everyone is stressed out about everything. People are rushing to go here or there and no one really has time just really sit back and enjoy themselves.
It is a hard time for a lot of people, but it has become so commercialized that people think they have to do Christmas a certain way.
