Or don't separate the sick/vacation days. Roll them together. That's how my company does it. You're sick, it's "personal time off".

Terribly abused.

Viewed differently when you're the one cutting the checks.

That's a shitty deal. My health shouldn't determine a bonus. My performance should.

It's a clever way to say you offer sick days and bonuses, when you really don't.

My company offers pto, and they want you to use it. They also offer quarterly bonuses, and they are based purely on your performance. The partners also don't post on message boards about how employees will only get paid if they do what they're told and stroke the egos that don't quite get satisfied via Internet posting.

But, to each his own.

It's also a great excuse for people with the flu or some shitty virus to show up sick and infect others

This. And even if you lump vacation/sick, they still miss days without pay. I then have to bring in part time help or suffer a decrease in productivity. Although, ones that do this often don't tend to stay very long.

Yea, and note the backwoods country doctor championing this incentive to bring sickness to his office.

I knew this would be incomprehensible to some. Don't be an idiot. I was talking about the Internet posting trying to seem like such a bad arse.

Our company encourages people to take theirs as well.

But back to health. If people are legitimately sick, they don't get a bonus that they could use to help pay for those med bills even if they outperformed others. It's just incentive to show up regardless what what you're doing and, as someone mentioned, even if you're actually sick.

I don't believe a word that clown says, ever. But if he wants to post like a shite head, might as well respect that and treat him like one.

I got my name put on my door, a view from a high-rise, and a nice set of knives and I haven't even started yet.

Personally or not if you read his posts without bias you would see how much of a tool he comes off as on here.

My bonus just hit my account.

We must have taken it on the chin this year because it was half of what it usually is.

I'm not complaining though. Something's better than nothing.
