Fair enough, but you have to recognize that the other side was a group of professionals that help make the opioid epidemic explode in this country.

lets not pretend they wouldnt have been writing opioids like candy too if they had the capability of writing scripts

may as well give barbers credit for being on the other side of the opioid epidemic.

I’m trying to avoid the cutting at all costs. Had a lower disc fusion 30 years ago and don’t want to do again if possible to avoid. I’ve had physical therapy, injections etc.

I can believe that, but I’m not relying on someone that cracks backs for a living for something that serious.

How about someone who gives massages.
Ever been to Physical Therapy. Are you skeptical of them also?

CPK is “gentle” Chiropractic

…and promotes applying soft, sustained pressure for correcting any tissue structure for safe, gentle corrections compatible with the hydrodynamics of the internal environment of the body.

Soo....stretching?

If it's the chiro that his players are sent to, go for it. If it's not and this is just a casual referral. Pass.

People like to believe doctors have this vast well of knowledge they draw from, and that their prescribed treatments will always be correct.

When in reality, most doctors know how to do two things:
Medicate you, or
Cut it out of you

Chiropractic care has its place, just like medical doctors have their place.

I'd wait for the real doctor to give a diagnosis and treatment.

Surgery is their treatment. It always is. Nothing wrong with trying less aggressive treatments 1st.

A good chiropractor is worth their weight in gold. I’ve got an L5-S1 low back issue & my neck has a reversed curve by 110+ degrees, it’s almost like an every day whiplash, played football, rugby & martial arts throughout my life. Also have an ankle that’s bone on bone that sucks the most & cause of the low back issues and my gate being thrown off.

Been to tons of different Chiros, PT, stem cell injections, traction, tens unit that I used to walk around with, graston, dry needling, Accupunture, you name it, I have tried it.

3 most helpful things for me at least.

1. Stretching the correct way that is specific to Your injuries. Basically looking at your x-rays & doing Intensive/pin-point stretch techniques to open the joints to allow blood flow and oxygen to the discs etc. (One Chiro I know is very good with this)
2. Dry Needling works Wonders for me, gets the spots that can’t be touched by anything else without the long needles
3. Graston works very good as well, but it has to be very aggressive & rough. I have my own graston tools which are cheap, but it’s not the same as someone applying it, and can’t get all the body parts by yourself.
4. Doing all these techniques and having a good Chiro that knows what he’s doing & makes those specific adjustments to help get you aligned again.

Problem with Chiros, most of the older generation ones are generic in their approach & they do not loosen/ warm you up and just do generic adjustments.

Back in 2014’ish, I was about to get a low back surgery I was in so much pain, went to Najeeb Thomas, imo best back & neck surgeon in NOLA area. He told me to try PT 1st if I wanted to give it a try. So I sought out chiro’s that work with pro-athletes & I went from getting surgery to sky-diving.

Still have much pain, but when I do my therapy & commit to it, it’s night and day.

** I have some very good ones that I’ve found, especially on the Northshore, “Integra - Dr. Paul Gordon”, he has worked with many renowned bone & joint specialist across the globe & his approach is very intensive to the specific alignment issues. He gives good homework for specific stretches to do at home that you can carry with you the rest of your life.

My sister (no pics) and my Dad both had good results with chiropractic care.

Had some dry needling done by a chiropractor for bulging disks T6-T7 last fall. Weird procedure and I was skeptical but after two sessions it eliminated the pain.

In MS Chiros can't do dry needling, but PTs can.

Let me translate this: “I had mid thoracic pain due to muscle spasms/trigger points. Some idiot ordered an MRI which showed bulging disks, which are seen on at least 50% of people over 40 years old with no pain (an incidental finding not related to my pain). Chiropractor treated the myofacial pain with modalities and it helped.”

This is perfect lol. Dry needling helps muscle spasms which was causing op’s pain. Disc bulges don’t mean anything

Chiros are people that were too dumb to get in to real medical school.

Wouldn’t get within 100 yards of a chiropractor if you have neck issues
