Socialism is the direct lead to Communism. While Socialism is textbook an economic approach, it has certainly carried with it a cultural aspect with it in the past few years.

Consider ANTIFA thuggery and general leftist multiculturalism as well as 1) redistribution of wealth (in whatever different of its permutations), and 2) general increase in government control and punishment.

So, yes, socialism is a form of economics. However, I argue it also has a government and/or cultural element to it. But, if I would be more precise, I suppose I should have said Communism instead of socialism, with the understanding that those who cry for outright socialism in the US (and throughout the world for the most part) are really just advocating for, in the end, Communism, including the government and cultural controls.

Also, Communism is rule by the party. It alleges that it is "the people," but it's the government. And the government/party is just that, not the people. It's the minority, or the few. Oligarchy, being rule by the few, is in my mind not much different than the party (Communism) ruling with an iron fist upon everyone in any and every aspect of one's life. They're both, in the end, totalitarian dictatorships. So, perhaps we can say Coummunism is an oligarchal totalitarian dictatorship with a specific economic platform--socialism.

Whatever the specific words we use are, socialism leads directly (or at least eventually) to Communism, which is a dictatorship of economic specificity. Regardless, they all lack freedom and allow the government to do terrible things--and yet these mobs of people keep wanting it for some reason.
