Child brings marijuana-laced treats to Winnsboro Elementary School

WINNSBORO, La. (KNOE) - According to the superintendent of Franklin Parish Schools, several elementary school students were "affected" after a child brought to school what were described as marijuana-laced rice crispy treats.
According to Superintendent Dr. Lanny Johnson, it happened Friday morning at Winnsboro Elementary School. Johnson says an 11-year-old child brought the marijuana-laced rice crispy treats to school.
He believes the child's mother helped make the treats. He says he expects the parent to be arrested.
Johnson says the number of students affected is about 15. Johnson says the children are okay. Some parents KNOE spoke to say they are taking their children for a medical evaluation to be sure. The police department says the matter is under investigation and isn't releasing any information at this time.

The kids aren't just ok, they feel better then they ever have. A little giddy and spaced out, but otherwise having fun.

It’s kind of an anomaly. It’s technically a delta town but has a lot of pine tree type white people. The brothas are kind of country and not terribly thuggish, although there are exceptions. People are proud to be from there for some damn reason. It’s boring and unmemorable to me. The Smokers Paradise has excellent bbq and Big John’s burgers are legit. And It gave us Booger McFarland.
