Go to the feed store and get some permethrin.. mix it in a spray bottle and spray your hunting / clothes you plan to wear in the woods. It doesn't smell when it dries and it will keep them off of you.. a couple months ago a buddy and I went to fill feeders at the lease.. he got completely tore up from chiggers .. my clothes were treated and I didnt get any bites.

Get a metal object.

Scratch till it bleeds

Pour alcohol on it

Curse loudly

Walk around for three weeks with nasty scabs

Do you even Deep Woods Off?

Should have. Took my kids hiking but they kept wandering off the trail.

We’re outdoors a good bit but I think July must be when they’re out. I had bites last July as well after going backwoods trail running.

I got destroyed by them a couple of weeks ago. I stopped counting at 100 bites. They only itched the first night. Here was my regimen:

1. Aveeno soothing bath soak. I guess the oatmeal in it soothes or something. Run a cool bath, dissolve it in there, soak for 15-20 minutes.

2. Hydricortisone cream on ones that itch.

3. Zyrtec every morning, and Benadryl at night.

It'll be 3 weeks Saturday since I got them, and there are still a few lingering bites.

Hey man. I thought I was tough until my little chigger bite grew 8 inches in diameter.

Sawyer sells it pre made you can get it at Walmart. It's just a lot cheaper to buy it at the feed store and mix it yourself..

I also learned they actually don't bite you. They "throw up" on you and the juice eats a hole in your skin and they feast. That's why they hammer you on your sockline and waistband. They can latch themselves onto the fabric and go to town on you.

Chiggers are definitely the devils minions. Been years since I've been infested with these bastards.
Worst case ever was at Camp Shelby while attending an NCO school. Spent the last day patrolling and small unit tactics. Came back and cleaned weapons and gear. By 10 pm I was itching like crazy. Went to medics to get something for the itching. They said it looks like you have over a hundred bites. Told me a soldier they checked before me probably had over 200 bites.

I'd be happy with chiggers and mosquitoes dying tomorrow.
