Making a statement in today's media driven world is a must. I understand what is meant when you say ignore her, but that doesn't make headlines or make a concrete statement to your peers at the police force or the general public. I think his statement is spot on and she looks like the fool we all know she is.

Broome just wants justice and her definition of justice is getting the outcome she believes is just.
We all know she wanted the cops indicted. She hoped they had done something wrong and she was sorely disappointed that the Feds said they had not violated Federal law.
How many mayors out there want their cops indicted? How many are disappointed to learn their cops weren't wrong?

I am all for that. But asking her to reconsider is the part with which I disagree. Hey Moore pointed response would have been to end it with "there will be no more comment to Mayor broom until the investigation is complete"

Dude, she's fishing for reasons to fire him. He doesn't need to twist the knife. That letter was factual, to the point, professional, and had no overtones. That's what he needed to deliver. As soon as he starts trying to dictate what she will or won't get out of him, she'll start using it as ammo.
