Fast food chain Chick-fil-A released a statement saying “our hearts are breaking” for black employees who have “suffered for too long because of racism.” The statement comes as cities nationwide take to the streets to protest police brutality after the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. “Racism should have no place in society. Not now, not ever. It cannot be tolerated. Our hearts are breaking, for our black Team Members, Operators and Staff and all those in the Black community who are suffering and who have suffered for too long because of racism,”

They also apologized after an employee wore a shirt supporting the police

Chick-fil-A is about being a decent human being. This does not stray from that course.

More like some black people just playing the victim card because that is way easier than showing real change by being productive and successful in their own lives.

Meh. I don't see them really bending the knee. More like just subtlety covering their arse.

i don't see how speaking out against racism = bending a knee.

it's possible to be against racism AND back the police.

maybe i'm reading it wrong but, it looks like they are speaking out against racism in general.

the part about the recent events isn't part of the CFA quote.

I think the company that picks up my garbage needs to make a statement. I won't use the gas station down the street until they make a statement. More statements are needed. Statements, yall.

I don’t care. They make good food and provide good service. I don’t give a shite where they stand politically.

correct. BUT

My problem with it is timing. All of these companies just now feel this passionate about denouncing racism? Since June 1st? No, they are cowering to the mob and felt they had to make a statement on the matter to avoid being called a racist company. It feels forced and disingenuous.

I like my chicken biscuit minus the statements involving wokeness. This seems like a great time to be avoiding fast food, anyway.

what a joke. CFA is about $$$$$$$$$$. take away $$$$$$$$ and they don't exist. Take away the stupid claim they're about being decent and you're left with the same place.
